  1. I love your posts! please don't change a thing in the way you write. I say to those who think they are too long or a "word salad", don't read them then. When I log on, you are the first person I look for to see what is new.My favorite has been the "you tube" you made for your wife and friends. I laughed so hard tears ran down. Keep 'em coming. My husband and I will be on the Marina 12/24 as newbies to Oceania so I'm looking forward to your review of your first. Have a wonderful trip
  2. I have vision problems and appreciate the large font. Didn't have any trouble reading. You keep doing you!
  3. I have. We always sail in a spa balcony. The cost for a Haven is not for us. Others love it though.
  4. We also do walking tours by locals. You can find free ones where all you pay is tips. Check google to see what is offered in each of your ports.
  5. I so love your planning. I love the "If you want to change something call your congressman" line. There is nothing wrong with detailed planning as long as you can be flexible when Murphy's law acts up! We are on the Riviera 10/20/2023 and it is our first O cruise but not our first cruise. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Our first with Oceania is this Oct. on the Riviera. Our TA recommended taking the excursions and no air. By choosing this way we are paying $300 for 3 excursions upfront which has a value up to $199 for each excursion. We book our own air as we have control to and from our destination in case any issues or delays arise. I think next time we will not take any "perks" since you are paying for them with O life up front.
  7. Aug 2021 we stayed a few days in Seattle. We stayed at the Marriott Water front hotel. The pier that Celebrity(Pier 66) was using at that time was across the street so we walked off to the hotel. We walked to the famous Pike market from the hotel. We did use a cab to go to Chihuly Gardens( up hill walk if you want to walk there) which is next to the space needle and a museum. The hotel arranged a town car to get us to the airport at a great price(Ithink around $60 for the 2 of us).
  8. We, also did Iceland/Greenland last August. We missed 1 port in Greenland and 1 in Iceland due to weather. We didn't book our own excursions because they sell out really early so we were glad not to go through dealing with cancellations. It is an amazing trip even after missing 2 ports.
  9. Yes, I forgot to say you need to go online with the airline to do seat selection.
  10. Once you get your confirmation/booking number you can select your seats. I have done it for all the flights. I did have to pay to move my husband to the empty seat next to me. I think that is so the airlines make more money as the empty seat was a middle one, not a premium seat. Oh well......
  11. Aug 1 NCL is stopping covid test prior to getting on board except in for US, Canada and a couple of Europe ports. That being said CDC announced yesterday it is not required any longer and is up to the cruise lines as to whether they want to still require it. So waiting to what NCL does.
  12. We have two faves "Good time girls and ghosts" in Skagway last Aug. A "Madam" is your walking tour guide. It was funny, entertaining and educational. Our two days in St. Petersburg Aug 2019. The Russian tour company was fabulous, early entry to everything. Canal cruise, Catherines Palace, Ride on the subway, lunch, Cathedral of Spilled blood and the list goes on. Same guide and driver for both days.
  13. When my husband was still scuba diving he packed his dive knife. Yes, they kept the bag and had him go to security to open it for them then gave him the bag. They gave the knife back at disembarkation. They did not go through the bag.
  14. A drink I am looking forward to trying on our next cruise is a Dark n' Stormy. Rum and ginger beer
  15. We go the the Mojito bar and order the flight of mojitos. They are smaller in size but you different ones to try. And yes on the ginger mojito!
  16. Flying to US will not be needed as of Sunday at midnight. https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/10/politics/us-to-end-pre-departure-testing-requirement/index.html
  17. We, too, got an email from Air Canada with a flight change for our July Iceland flight. Nothing from NCL either by email or in our summary. I have been trying to call air department all day because of a mistake made on the return. They or Delta have us on over lapping flights to and from Atlanta. We arrive at 4:17pm in Atlanta and leave Atlanta at 3:23 pm. Hmmm.. I don't think we will make that flight, lol. Fortunately the Air Canada email had the locator # so I was able to see all flights.
