Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on the Breeze in 2018 and Vista in 2019 - loved the Breeze, were meh on the Vista. Both were summer Caribbean cruises and had similar demographics and percent of capacity on board. The Vista's layout and venues were not as well thought out as for the Breeze. We'll likely choose a Dream-class ship the next time we go.
  2. I was in a similar spot as you, with my daughter turning 16 during the cruise and my son having just turned 14. We went to the Club O2 manager the afternoon we boarded to see about allowing my 14yo be in Club O2. Since he is tall for his age and no one would really question whether he belonged in Club O2, they let him in on the understanding that if he misbehaved at all he'd be 'demoted' to Circle C. This was for a late July 2019 cruise. On both of their cruises, the clubs were just a place to meet and go do other things - occasionally they would play games there, but not so much for the organized activities. The clubs served as a way to bring similar-aged kids together early on as an ice-breaker, but then they typically self-select into groups of about 8 to hang out the rest of the cruise.
  3. We enjoyed the Breeze much more than the Vista. Especially the comedy clubs and the piano lounge layouts. Walking Deck 5 all the way around was awesome on the Breeze. Hoping to sail that class again someday.
  4. For our first two cruises, we chose Deck 2 cove balconies (Breeze and Vista) about 8-10 cabins aft of the forward elevators, partly for this reason. Not fully amidships, but enough to minimize motion. We noticed very little motion when in our cabin. However, these were also Caribbean summer cruises with not all that much wave action either (but a couple days were rolling a bit). Low and center is your best bet. Having sight of a horizon helps - your brain starts to recognize it indeed is the floor that's moving. If you're inside, your brain does not like the fact that your eyes are telling you all is stable, but your inner ear says things are moving. That dissonance makes you want to puke.
