Would that be the same on a return flight too? We are leaving our cruise in Fort Lauderdale and would like two or three nights there before returning to the UK.
Sent from my iPad using Forums
Yes it's the same.

We were continually disappointed in ours this past October at Cafe Two70.....extremely rare and fatty.
Thank you :D When I have told people about the extremely rare beef at Cafe Two70 nobody has believed me.

We are brand new to cruising and both of us have walking issues. My son is a frequent visitor to Norway (oil industry) and is telling us which ports to visit. However, how do you get your scooter to the ship? I have a Luggie, which collapses right down BUT I have been over on it 3 times (once in the middle of a road) so do not fancy it on cobbles., my other is a Sterling Little Star and collapses very flat with the battery and seat separate. However neither of us can carry it far. This is our 50th anniversary and as keen photographers want to see the aurora borealis from the Artic Help anyone
Welcome to CC (Cruise Critics).
If you know how you are travelling to your departure port, post the info and someone might be able to give you advice.
We travel down the day before from Stoke on Trent and overnight in a hotel. We then park at the docks, the day of the cruise. My son travels in his wheelchair in a specially adapted van.

The only restrictions I can recall are in the Adventure Ocean / teen areas.
Theatre if you get the wrong server like we did this year on Indy. They wanted to charge us :(
Good job we always carry the Diamond drink card around with us.

Just read some of the reviews, as we are on Navigator in September. Particularly loved 2 comments by the same reviewer: "Breakfast was the same every morning ( sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs etc) I wish there were more healthy options." But the best comment is "Portugal was ok but not as nice as France". I know reviews are subjective but please how can you tell that Portugal is not as nice as France from 1 port of call?

Thanks all I will let my parents knew. :)

My parents turned Diamond + in June. According to RCI website they should have Royal Caribbean Logo Identification Luggage Tags.
What are Royal Caribbean Logo Identification Luggage Tags? Are they something like leather luggage labels?
Are they sent to their home address or do you have to request them on their next cruise? They have cruise since turning DP and did not receive them.

Hi I would get a new quote.
I have just done a dummy booking on RCI UK website: Voyager of the Seas; Singapore to Hong Kong; 9 night cruise; cruise leaving on 29 June 2019; including flights(from Manchester) and overnight hotel. Deposit required £450.00 (for 3) with balance due 3 May.
I know when we book, we use a Travel Agent and have to pay £750.00 as a deposit. (£150.00 per person)

I know this was an old post but the only one I can blow some steam. Thanks for all the responses. Like I said. "Lesson Learned". Just rebooked to maintain my $500 deposit. Will stick with a TA for all my future cruises.
Why would you post on CC to "blow some steam"?
If I was already mad, posting on here would only make me madder because I don't need others pointing out what a stupid mistake I had made.

Your words -"Carnival gave us generously."We are not debating CCL... I have always seen CCL do the right thing. We are talking about RCI... not doing the right thing/not having to do the right thing... depending on the side.
I find it interesting that you have stated "We are not debating CCL" in response to ucfalli post.
All this post does is show how people are ill equipped to handle changes/ things life throws at them. How to figure out new solutions or how to make the best of a situation. For Pete’s sake. My carnival European honeymoon cruise was cancelled something like 2 months beforehand. I pulled up my big girl pants and researched an alternative cruise with the refunded credit and discount carnival gave us generously. Had an amazing Alaskan cruise instead. I’ve also had a Western Caribbean cruise changed with whole new ports to eastern and had a great time. Found out at the dock due a hurricane.
You yourself have mentioned CCL twice in this thread: #54 and #174. In #93 you even provided a link to Carnival's Itinerary Change Policy.
Also you have not said this to other posters that have mentioned CCL.
IMHO if you can mention CCL then ucfalli can.

Was on the Indy in May, some of the Security crew had them but not all.

Perhaps I'm missing something. The OP books a non-refundable cruise for his honeymoon?
I'm assuming that the OP did not take out insurance, either, as the OP would not be moaning about losing $800. Surely as it is his honeymoon he would have either booked a refundable cruise or taken out "cancel for any reason" trip insurance. Especially as he promised his wife they would go to the Bahamas for their honeymoon.
What kind of message does this send to his bride?
It would have been a nice goodwill gesture from RCI to refund his deposit but legally he is not entitled to a refund as he booked a non-refundable cruise.

I would not risk it. I had a free foot analysis on Indy last year. I was told I had a fallen arch and needed 1 of their insoles. I decided to see my doctor, when I got home, instead of buying an insole. Doctor said I had not got a fallen arch I was just placing all my weight on one foot and was causing me to have pain when I walked.

I need room for the scooter in the cabin and also electronic door opening, so that I can get myself and the chair/scooter in and out. If that were readily available, I wouldn't need to take an accessible room from someone who is a full-time wheelchair user :(:(
This forthcoming cruise was booked 14 months ago, we tried several cruiselines before we found 1 accessible cabin left on a September med cruise from Southampton. Next year we have a TA + return, we secured this 12 months ago on the day bookings opened.
Not sure if this will help but we borrow a door wedge from our cabin steward. My DS is in a manual wheelchair, borrowing a wedge means only 1 person has to go back to the cabin with him. Sorry if I have presumed the wrong reason for you needing an electronic opening door.
Enjoy your cruise:D

Not sure if this will help? We are a family of 5 adults on embarkation day we normally sit in Schooners. 2-3, of us, sit with the carry-on bags and the rest gets food and drinks for all of us from the Promenade. We enjoy this as there is no hauling the carry-ons around and no playing hunt the table in the Windjammer.

I don't know if any of them hold more than 2 people.
I remembered that RCI has a web page https://www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/accessible-cruising/accessible-staterooms that states Stateroom Capacity. I have stayed in Anthem of the Seas inside HC. RCI claim it's for 4 but we found 3 adults; a hoist and wheelchair was enough in cabin.
-
What are the welcome waters and snacks? Is it just a can of soda and a plate of cookies or something more?
You will normally find 4 bottles of water(500ml) in your cabin. A soda of your choice and normally a plate of cookies.
You need to ring RCI and speak to the Crown & Anchor department to select your soda of choice. You can have things like cola, apple juice, grapefruit juice. Sorry can't remember the others.
-
I do not think you have done anything inappropriate in this matter. In my opinion if HC cabins are included on the website, as soon as one is selected it should be explicitly mentioned to you by a pop-up. This will give a potential passenger booking the cabin to think; "no that's not what I want" or proceed appropriately. I think some sort of evidence of your need should be required.
Regards John
I find it interesting that on RCI UK website I cannot book a HC cabin, I cannot even check availability, I have to ring RCI or get my TA to ring RCI. However on RCI US website HC cabins can be booked. I don't know if this is the same with other lines.
-
IMHO, the bigger problem is there are nowhere near enough accessible cabins! For example, on RCCL Anthem there are almost 2100 cabins and only 34 are accessible and I don't know if any of them hold more than 2 people.
I know the answer. There are HC cabins on RCI ships that hold 3 people. Downside you have to book roughly 15 months in advance just to get them. I know this because we are a family of 5 and we always try and book a HC cabin for 3. Most of the time we can book a 3 person cabin but not necessarily the category we what.

Anything to do with medical, I would keep with me at all times. Even though there could be a very slight chance of something happening...I still wouldn't take that chance
I totally agree. We never let my son's medical equipment out of sight. We use a portable trolley to similar to this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Go-Travel-932-travel-Trolley/dp/B000O0YHWI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1534099395&sr=8-3&keywords=portable+trolley&refinements=p_72%3A419153031 to carry the equipment on board the ship.

So you mean my plan to see the Opera house, Harbour Bridge, Uluru, Barrier Reef, Barossa Valley, Margaret River and Broome in the three days between the cruise and flying home is enough to fill the time?
Sorry... Aussie sense of humour :-)
This leaves no time for Sydney's famous red light district. Lol

Your wife will be fine. The Windjammer might be more suitable for you wife. They always have pizza, burgers, hot dogs and some kind of roast joint. They have plain pasta with the sauces in a separate serving dish. There is also pie and curry, but the curry may not be as mild as your wife is use to, it depends who has cooked it.
