Why won't they accept bills with marks or tears?
-
Thanks for the info. We did pre-pay tips so there's not a concern about that portion. His S&S would be strictly for spending his own discretionary money. We'll pay for stuff like movies or specialty restaurants that are part of the family experience. We told him he can use his saved money on whatever crap that I'm not going to pay for...like arcade games and candy. We do similar things at home but he uses cash.

Can I set up my son's S&S card with cash and not attach it to a credit card? He's saved up some birthday and Christmas money and wants to be able to use it on the cruise. I don't want him to be able to rack up charges once that's gone without my permission. Thanks!

The only thing you really need to plan for a cruise are ports and dates. If you want to nitpick every second of every day, a land vacation may be more up your alley. A cruise is more about rolling out of bed and looking at the fun times to see what there is to eat and do, then go do it. Then if you don't like it, go do something else.
I don't consider it nitpicking to want to know if you need to bring specific attire in order to participate in a fun activity, as another poster said. Perhaps our definitions of nitpicking are different.

Could they have knocked it over and spilled it?

I have no idea, but I would think probably not.
I looked at rabies recommendations since that's is required of domesticated animals in my state. I'm sure there are other possible transmittable diseases.
The International Association for Medical Assistance for Travelers recommends avoiding contact with feral animals in Honduras, not domesticated animals. https://www.iamat.org/country/honduras/risk/rabies
Also, the CDC lists rabies under the "Some Travelers" categories for vaccination requirements for Honduras. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/honduras

Aren't all statistics made up, technically speaking? Otherwise it's just raw data.

I didn't realize so many people hate T-Rex!

Happening again on Carnival page.
Are there any other good sites out there? This one is so unreliable and disappointing now.

The well established beach clubs in Cozumel (such as Mr. Sancho's) are some of the safest private excursions, in my opinion. They've been there for years. The taxis are very well regulated as others have mentioned. The prices are well publicized and the island isn't that big so it's easy to allow yourself plenty of time to get back to the ship from these beach clubs. The crime rate is lower in Cozumel than in some other Caribbean cruise ports. I always feel safe there and have no qualms about grabbing a taxi and going wherever I want there. In certain other ports, I would not do that either for safety concerns or travel time to the excursion itself.

This is getting really old.

I can't access Carnival.

So this will be a daily thing I see.

These continued changes do feel a bit like a bait and switch for those who book far out. We booked over a year from sail date and already 4 things have increased in price: Cheers, steakhouse, and now room service and bottomless bubbles. Because I'm using the Easy Pay function, I haven't finished paying off the balance so unfortunately I'll be affected by the price increases and need to now change my budgeting plans to include the extra costs. It's a first world problem and I should be grateful that I am still going to go on the cruise. However, it still bothers me. I'm a little worried about what else may go up in price before I pay off the balance. I should probably try to pay it off before the next planned Easy Pay payment to try and ensure I get in before any additional costs are added!

I wonder how many days it will take to get fixed.

2020? Probably nothing at all! Carnival continues to reduce services and raise prices.

Everything is included in the $38 charge except alcohol and tips, correct?

The packers have started labeling where the lettuce was grown. That way we don't have to pull everything off the market if it happens again. Once the source is identified or at least narrowed down, the product from other areas will be released for sale. The salad I purchased Sunday had the new labeling.

Answering only the question asked: I agree with the others that you aren't going to want to walk anywhere around the hotel.
Offering another option: Eat inside the airport before you leave. There are lots of options to cover picky eaters.
-
Just giving options in the event they decide to get an Uber or something. If they get there and find they don't like the restaurant in the hotel it will be a bit late to start looking. Didn't mean to offend...

Yeah, the area surrounding Hobby isn't that great. Stick with a major hotel chain and it will be sufficient. Not great, but sufficient. This is not an area where you walk to your destination.
Some restaurants in the area that I would recommend are:
Captain Benny's Seafood
8253 Gulf Fwy, Houston, TX 77017
Dot Coffee Shop (has full diner menu)
7006 I-45 S. at Woodridge, Houston, TX 77087
Pappas BBQ
7050 I-45, Houston, TX 77087
Doneraki (Tex Mex)
300 Gulfgate Center Mall, Houston, TX 77087
Boudreaux's Seafood Kitchen
100 Gulfgate Center Mall, Houston, TX 77087
I've been to all of these personally and feel safe. Just don't do stupid things like flash a bunch of cash or leave your car unlocked.

I've never heard of this 4x gift card promo at Kroger. I'll have to look it up. I normally shop elsewhere but I do get the flyers and have never seen this advertised.

I'm glad to hear there will be more options out of Galveston! I live in the Houston area so this is the most economical port for me.

Wow. I've been saving my small bills whenever I get them in preparation for the cruise. Should I exchange them at the bank and request brand new bills?
