We are going on a Mediterranean Cruise in September. We are spending 5 days in Rome before the cruise. The cruise leaves from Barcelona and stops back at Civitavecchia on Day 5. I don’t think it will be worth the time or expense to go back into Rome seeing that we will have just left there about 10 days prior. Are there any alternative places we should be thinking about? Previous stop going to Florence and next stop Naples (doing Pompeii and Amalfi Coast there). Neither of us drink wine so cross that off too. Thanks in advance

Our group of 6 rented a car for our day in the French Riviera. A couple of people want to go to the Jacques Cousteau Ocean Aquarium so we will be making that a stop. I am figuring those not interested will be close to other sites in Monte Carlo and we can do that while the others are in the Aquarium. Are there sites nearby? Also, we were hoping to make a stop on the way in. What is best for views and maybe a quick lunch? Also about how long of a drive is this and is there a scenic route we should take? Thanks for your help

I have 8 family members on this same cruise. They have been having a fabulous time and have nothing but good things to say. It is unfortunate a war started in Isreal the day the ship set sail but NCL has even given 2 alternate port stops to make up for it. My family has been more than happy.

Honestly never thought of that. Probably should have. Will mention it tomorrow. To be honest we haven’t spent any time out on the verandah. Literally a couple of minutes a day if even that.

There does seem to be new carpet in he stateroom. Mattress is not new. Doesn’t seem like the furniture, couch is new either. Balcony furnishings definitely not new. Out outside handle is even falling off

There is absolutely nothing going on in that space. It has been empty all week

The gym also has new carpeting and lighting. It is well used. Lots of nice machines and a free weight area. Yes they have mats but they are extremely thin… basically just so you are laying on the mat not the floor people have been stepping on. If you are looking for those foam mats then no they don’t have those

This is correct. They have had one movie shown thus far and it was one evening (two viewings) in the main theater.

Yes the new “library” is more like a small bookstore. They staffperson stated they are converting to this new style. It is a clean and attractive space but not what I consider to be a library. ie no nooks for reading, research etc. more like a clean space to borrow a book and leave. I have also noticed all of the newly installed carpet is beginning to shed… a lot. Especially in the high traffic areas like the lido deck buffet seating area. Needs a good vacuuming
