  1. Some questions about Anthem & the deluxe drink package. 1) is the bionic bar included? 2) are those automatic wine dispensers in vintages included? 3) is anything at la patisserie included?
  2. I’m doing a cruise on Freedom in June 2020. When looking at the deck plans for the time period of the cruise it still lists Sabor & on air club and doesn’t have any of the “amplified” features. I was under the impression Freedom was being amplified early 2020 and would basically be a copy of Independence (which I just sailed on last month). The cruise planner even lets me reserve Sabor. Google searching hasn’t brought much fruit beyond a table from last year that outlined the amplified outline. Does anyone have any info on this? Thank you!
  3. Independence didn’t have any tapas at vintages. This would make me think it’s similar on liberty & freedom but can not confirm.
  4. In my research for my cruise next year I stumbled upon some 7N NE/Canada cruises on Brilliance our of Boston in sept/oct 2020. I’ve never done a NE cruise, and am possibly considering it over a Bahamas itinerary for something different. Couple questions: 1) on my last cruise out of Southampton I found the food lacking compared to my previous cruises out of Baltimore & Fort Lauderdale. My thoughts were maybe this was due to the departure port. Specifically I found a lack of good seafood options. Would a cruise out of Boston going north have menus that reflect that region? Will there be more abundance of seafood options? On independence out of Southampton the only venue I could find scallops on the ship was in Izumi hibachi. 2) what are some overall opinions on radiance class ships? I’ve sailed on vision, freedom & oasis class. I liked the layout of grandeur (vision class). From some videos it seems like brilliance is an upgraded vision class ship, is that the overall feel? Much appreciated
  5. I’ve always booked directly through RCCL for my cruises and I’m comfortable with the process. However, I’m planning on doing a family cruise (potentially 10+), and we being the ones with the cruise experience are spear heading this vacation. Obviously I don’t want it riding all on me so I’m likely going to use a TA. I’ve read that if you use a TA to book a RCCL cruise there are certain things you can’t do without the TA. What things that I normally handle on my own will the TA have to do? For example, can I still book excursions through the cruise planner, cancel and rebook drink packages if there’s a sale, etc. Basically I want to know the general differences in the process I should expect. Thank you!
  6. We’re possibly doing this itinerary mainly because of the departure port and the ships. We only plan to really get off the ship for coco cay. We’re a big fan of sea days. We might also take a family cruise out of San Juan to the southern Caribbean so that will fill our port needs. the prices for the dates we’re looking at for each ship are pretty similar for inside cabins. So it really just comes down to which ship. edit: also, flying down to Florida someday isn’t out of the question, it’s just we flew overseas this year and will be flying to San Juan next summer so we want to keep the costs down for this one
  7. Looking to narrow down some choices for our cruise next year. We're looking at the same itinerary but different dates on different ships Itinerary: 7 night Orlando/Perfect Day/Nassau out of New Jersey. 1) Oasis (will be amplified) - Sept or Oct 2020 2) Anthem - March 2020 We've cruised 3 times: 1) 2014 on Allure - loved it, but memory isn't completely clear 2) 2018 on Grandeur - loved it 3) 2019 on Independence - had a good time, but had some issues with the ship, some over crowding (which we learned to handle as the cruise went on) and layout issues. Wouldn't completely prevent us from doing a Freedom class again Things that appeal to us about Anthem - new class of ship for us - we want to try wonderland - skydiving sounds fun - seems like it's very different from other classes, and would be a fun to try something new Things that appeal to us about Oasis - newly renovated - huge ship, lots of space and things to do - want to try 150 Central Park (didn't manage to on our 2014 allure cruise) - new BBQ place might be interesting - would be interesting to try an Oasis class again now that we have more RCCL experience under our belt We would just like some thoughts to help us narrow down which ship we would want to take. We would have a great time on either. We're a couple in our 30's without kids and the port is in driving distance.
  8. I’m from the US but will be leaving on a Mediterranean cruise leaving out of Southampton, England next month (Independence, RCCL). I have a few questions 1) What currency should I be tipping on board when I wish to tip extra in cash? (USD, euros, pounds?) 2) What currency is accepted in the casino? I know typically you’ve had to use cash so how does this work in this situation? 3) What are some of the earliest times people have been able to board on embarkation day? 4) I’ll be staying at the Holiday Inn in Southampton, can you walk from the holiday inn to the ship? 5) Is it customary to tip the porters you drop off your bags with when boarding the ship from a UK sailing? If so, how many pounds? 6) What currency will prices on board be listed as? 7) it’s my understanding that sailings from the UK include the gratuity in the listed price of drinks (as in it’s built in), how would the drink package work in this case? Typically on a freedom class ship has a max of $12 covered by the package, how would this work with them listing the prices with the included gratuity?

  11. Thanks for all the advice! After looking at some things we've decided to just do Windsor instead just to keep things safer time wise.

  13. I'm going on a 14-d mediterranean cruise out of Southampton on June. Royal Caribbean offers a transfer to Heathrow + stonehendge tour at the end of my cruise in June. My international flight (to USA) leaves at 4:40pm. According to the RC rep I talked with the excursion timeline is "7:30am to arriving in Heathrow at 1:45pm". From what I gather it is recommended to be at Heathrow 3 hours prior to flight time for international flights. My thoughts are this might be too risky, what do others think? Alternatively does anyone have any suggestions for any companies that might provide a similar transfer + tour but arrive sooner? If my research I've found transfer/tour combos but they tend to include other stops and arrive later (4-5pm). Thank you!
