Thank you so much for posting photos and ship events, we will follow in October.

Please, what time are the show schedules, is there a piano bar and where is the juice bar on the sky.

    food looks amazing, oh temptation

    diane

The shows are at 8 o’clock, and 10:15

I don’t believe there is a piano bar.

The juice bar is in the buffet on deck, 16, in the pastry shop aisle

I think the word define here needs special attention when you talk about PVSA because it is one of the Marlarkey Kool-aid cruising urban myths that I am trying to debunk with solid evidence.

Right now it looks like maybe this is actually just how the USCG and its overseers are using an "Adoptive Interpretation" to determine what is a distant port or not.

    but I could be wrong.....

lets see what the cat brings in.

You would be mistaken there.  "Nearby foreign port" is defined in the law.  "Distant foreign port" is defined as a foreign port that's not part of the "Nearby foreign port" definition

Not always true.  I aways book guarantee.  On the several cruises I've taken since the restart, my I've always had at minimum a location upgrade.  I've been paying for an F location and have been assigned in at least a C location (sometimes B or A) and nothing lower.  A handful of times, I've been given a a full category upgrade.

Same here.  We've been delighted with the categories they've assigned us to.

  4. August 12 to Norway, we are in a balcony cabin.  I did get notice today that our medallions have shipped.  It's my assumption that those are programmed to access our balcony cabin.

We do have a rather aggressive bid on an upgrade to as Reserve Collection mini-suite.  We may or may not end up in that cabin.

If we DO end up in the mini-suite in the last few days before we board, how does that change our boarding?  Do we ask for new medallions or...what?

Fair enough....curious, where do you perceive the benefits of Reserve class are?

For my thinking, I don't value a mini-suite enough to pay for the upcharge.  But the presence of the Club Class dining changes that perception- for us.  One less thing to worry about.

the upcharge over a std Mini suite for Sept 2024 on Sky was £65+ pp..................
No way is it worth that amount.

Perhaps not to you.  But people place value on different things.  The fact that the Reserve Mini's sell out indicates that many disagree.

Actually tax loss harvesting is a good (IMHO) strategy. I harvested my CCL losses in 1 account (reported loss significantly higher than real loss as I took OBC all along the way) and will reinvest when it hits my limit price in another TYPE of account thus avoiding Wash Rule.

You cannot avoid the wash sale rules by reinvesting through an IRA instead of an open brokerage account

Bemis-  Welcome back!  Haven't seen you post in a while. I hope all is fine...

All is fine.  My job has me working 12-15 hour days most days now.  I barely read CC right now.

This too shall pass...... but bring a bunch of money, so there's that.

The only reason we bought this stock back in 2009 was for the stockholder credit cuz at $6.00 100 shares was a whopping $600 so we figured we’d buy a bunch of shares as we’d get it back pretty fast in stock holder credit.

It was never meant to be a a true investment although it just happened to take off, so anything we have here is truly play money. Sold half of our position in 2010 when it hit about $30 and sold the rest at $96 two weeks ago.

I can lose it all and it doesn’t matter in terms of retirement, etc. We are truly playing with house money on this one.   And I have echo’d that sentiment multiple times in these stock threads.   “Don’t put in what you can’t lose.”

You've lost the same amount as everyone else did over the last year.  The "still have profit" idea is just a logical fallacy.

It is fairly automatic these days.  If they were to drop it or even decrease it the complaining would not stop and would cause a large (massive?) stock selloff including lost business.  We have all come to expect it as we also do expect them paying dividends.

The amount of stock sellout they would see is "essentially none"  You badly overestimate how 100 shares adds up the the scheme of things.  They wouldn't even notice if everyone who held 100 shares sold them

It may not cost Princess much but it totally pisses me off every time I read that this has happened.  I think it does cost Princess in customer relations for the people who have cruised enough to earn the status.  Good for you but I think it's a stupid move on the part of Princess.

And actually, being in suites counted as 10 cruises.

I doubt if very many people are shallow enough to be concerned about other peoples sailing status. I could be wrong.

I used to be a government employee and get the day off with pay. These days I just get every day off with pay and get annoyed that there is no mail service today. Old people... 🙄

if you get worthwhile mail, I would suggest that you’re in a small minority. I no longer get bills or checks, so that just leaves junk mail

I only look in my mailbox once a week

On our upcoming Regal Cruise all the club class mini-suites were booked.  We settled for a "regular" mini-suite, but we will really miss the club class dining. Has anyone been able to purchase club class dining as an add-on to a regular mini-suite?  We'll ask on board, but just wondering if anyone has been successful?  We're Elite class, if that matters.

That can’t be done, no matter how elite you are.
