It was a lower case letter. It just doesn't seem to like auto-populated fields in the login for me at least. Google Chrome, if relevant.

I've had this problem. My browser auto populates my username and password and it will not login as-is. If I delete the last character of my password and re-enter it manually, then it will login without fail. I suspect I'm not the only one, as someone in page 1 of this thread reports it working only when they manually input.

For many years Uber refused to pay for a permit to pickup on Port property. People would have to pick the Starbucks across the street and then walk over. That has all been resolved. Uber is allowed for pickup and drop-off at the port now. As for the OP, uber is not going to have anything big enough to carry 7-8 people. You'll either need to book the Princess transfer bus or a private bus like mentioned above if you all want to ride together. Hobby Airport to Galveston is not much different than Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral.

Mostly due to cruise tourism. There was an article in the Galveston news this spring that was more hopeful. Putting the possibility by 2026. It sure would ease a lot of cruisers headaches.

I wonder how much it costs the rideshares to access? I know it is outrageous for the parking shuttle buses. Something like $50 or $100 everytime they swipe thru the port gate. They damn near lose money if they only have one car of people onboard.

I wouldn't be surprised if every Uber and Lyft driver in the greater Houston area wasn't working Rodeo Houston for the past 3 weeks. That's big business for them. The Galveston taxi situation is a bit of a conundrum. There not enough business for them other than the few hours of cruise business in the morning. Passengers are also completing with crew. If there's a few ships in port, you should see the taxis waiting outside Walmart, Marshalls, etc, just for the crew that can get off ship to do some shopping. They really pack in those minivan taxis.

The last 2 or 3 cruises I was able to get Sam Adams Just the Haze. It's a really good NA IPA. The downside was that I could only get one or two the first night, then they were out the rest of the cruise. I was then downgraded to Coors Edge the rest of the trip. I have brought 2 6-packs of NA beer on board. It hasn't been a problem yet, but they also never even looked at it because no one was working the inspection table. I had the rules pulled up on my phone ready to put up a fight though.

One walked by us in Galveston in January. It alerted on my DW, and we were told to just keep walking.

It's great news, but most everyone on here has scared me away from ever getting on the Miracle.

All options should be readily available. I have noticed that crew tends to use taxis instead of ride share. (Walmart and Marshalls seem to be particularly packed with crew when multiple ships are in port). I don't know for sure, but that might put a little pressure on taxis in particular for cruise mornings.

I had one of these in the same location on the Dream a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure if you're on the same class ship, but it's likely similar at least. We had a fairly rough sailing and our cabin wasn't any worse than any other part of the ship. We had a back window dining room table, and it was possibly even rougher. The waiter mentioned glasses slide off those back table and break quite often. The room felt pretty small. It only had 2 closet doors. One with shelves and one for hangers. If memory serves me right, there is usually 3. Also there was some wasted space by the door that they stuck a table that was of no use. The window is a nice touch to what would otherwise be a pretty small interior. Oh. And no noise from the Bridge above at all.

Porthole. For the bigger room, more so than the light. I may be a rare person that prefers oceanviews to balconies. And the portholes are just oceanviews for an interior price.

I was on the Dream last week. There were 7 ships in Cozumel the day we were. Vista came in last, and left first. I thought that was odd. Also on debarkation day, people were getting off our ship before Vista could even get docked

If you haven't been on this class, it's the worst main theater of the cruise line. If you want to watch a show in there, stake out one of the decent 12 seats early.

Speaking of wasted space, I was just surprised they used the jazz club for 2 hours last week. A few months ago it wasn't used at all in 8 days. Although that room always smells like sewage around the outside door/left side of the bar, which may be why they don't use it.

Another thing I always mention in the comparison is Dream only has a steakhouse and no Italian or JiJis. And the movie theater on Vista gives you one more thing to try out. Btw, it sounds like I was on your cruise.

Pros: The beautiful (and last i believe) Farcus designed lounge. The 2 separate casinos. Cons: Steakhouse is the only specialty restaurant and no red frog pub. These were changed on the the other 2 Dream class builds. Someone above mentioned Tandoor above, but it's no longer there.

I don't drink, but the wife does. And she may be in the range of 9-10 drinks a day to justify buying Cheers for both of us. But it's our free drinks in the casino that throws the whole calculation out of the water. Hell I don't even get my money's worth out of bottomless bubbles for diet Pepsi anymore, because half the ones I get are in the casino anyway.

Let the man dress up a little. I makes some of us feel good. 🤪 I'm still known to bring tuxedos for elegant nights and sport coats for casual nights.

It's not just Carnival either. I've been getting complementary room offers from RCCL all year, but my very latest one has pretty much all North American ports except Galveston. I've been waiting on the elusive Allure freebie, but previously they were only offering me Jan 29th and now they've seemed to stop.

I believe Serenity area is mid/forward on about deck 14. No pool, but it does have hot tubs if I'm not mistaken.

On the topic of who gets offers and why... Do you think Carnival purchases/gets passenger information from the port, even if it's not necessarily their cruise line? I generally go out of Galveston. And the last time I got off a RCI ship, I immediately got some better offers from Carnival within 24 hours. It could be just coincidence, but it sure made me wonder if they have access to passenger port logs in general.

For the most part, outside rooms (balcony, oceanview, porthole) will be headboard to headboard and interiors have headboards facing the door.
