Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I also purchased Premium Access for an upcoming cruise. Just completed the online check-in and there’s no indication on our Xpress Passes that we have this. We’re still 45 days out from the cruise so luggage tags are not available yet. It remains to be seen if it will be on there once the docs are ready. In any case, could it be because guests still have the option to cancel the package until a few days before the cruise? That’s just my guess.
  2. I’ve been wondering about this too. My only Celebrity cruise was way back in 2012 and they had it back then. Sold onboard only. They had tables set up at different locations around the ship where you could purchase either 3, 5 or 7 bottles. I’m hoping they would still have this for our upcoming cruise in June. We’re not really interested in the drink packages but we drink a lot of wine so this is a better value for us.
  3. That must be an error. Santa Margherita has no dock for cruise ships. I’ve been there a few times already.
  4. Yes I am. Cannes and Santa Margherita are both tender ports.
  5. It really depends on your personal circumstances and needs if this pass is great value or not. For me, having no status with Celebrity and staying in a regular veranda stateroom, it’s worth it. I purchased it for our June Rome to Barcelona 9-nighter on the Equinox for the following reasons: 1. Priority tendering. We cruise for the itinerary/destination more than the cruise experience itself, and with 2 tender ports (DIY) on this sailing, getting off without having to potentially wait for a long time is important to us. 2. Wi-fi. We originally purchased wi-fi and had it refunded after purchasing the pass. 3. Room Service. We love having breakfast on our balcony, and I foresee us doing this for at least half the mornings on this sailing, especially on days with the early port arrivals. The other perks are just bonus to us. We purchased The Key on our last Med cruise in 2019 on RC Radiance and it was well worth it. The only thing I wish Celebrity would add is a final sit down “elevated” breakfast on the MDR during disembarkation, like its parent cruise line.
  6. Current target market here, I think (Early 40’s DINK). Been on a few cruises (one Caribbean and one Alaska, the rest Europe) with family during my teens to early 30’s, all with Princess except for one on Celebrity. That was way back in 2012 on the Silhouette (Italy/Croatia). During my 30’s, I went on a few more Med & Asia cruises with my partner, again on Princess (Grand/Crown class) and once each on NCL (Star) & RC (Radiance). I guess I’m an old soul since I prefer the traditional, refined experience of older, smaller ships to the theme park atmosphere of the gaudy monstrosities, Sun Princess included. Currently booked on another Med cruise on the Equinox this summer, our first since 2019. While I still love Princess, I feel that Celebrity is a perfect fit for us. We exclusively cruise the Med now, so itinerary is the key driver. Princess itineraries have been unchanged for years, while Celebrity has more interesting choices, even if most of these ports are repeats for us. We also love the diverse international demographics on European cruises. And with the port-intensive itineraries and long port days, we feel that S-class ships offer just the right kind of experience we are looking for.
  7. We will be taking a cruise with an overnight stop in La Spezia. From what I understand, a port shuttle is required from the ship to the passenger terminal and vice versa, and walking in the port is prohibited. Does the shuttle service run until late night? We’re planning to have dinner in one of the Cinque Terre, and return to La Spezia on one of the last trains. We will most probably be back at the port after 10PM. Hoping for someone who has experienced an overnight stop in La Spezia to shed some light on this. Thank you.
