  1. Thanks for the explanation! I too think it is possible they might change it back temporarily. Flu, colds, and Covid are worse in the winter months it seems to me. My fingers and toes will be crossed!
  2. How close to sailing can you change the second person (in a cabin of 2) in your cabin? This is if the second person has an emergency and can't go on the cruise. Anybody know for sure? Thanks.
  3. Yes, that would be nice. I imagine if it happens there will be a lot of upset booked passengers so they might do something like that.
  4. #4. Yes, we would get travel insurance. It's just not as easy to find "cancel for any reason", although I know they are out there. Thank you, that's what I was leaning towards. Number 2 is kind of silly, though. 😉
  5. I/m not sure I know what this means...
  6. Now that vaccination no longer is required, I'm wondering about a certain scenario that has not been mentioned (or at least I have not seen it)... my DH is not vaccinated, I am. We book a cruise for February and at the end of October make our final payment. Over the winter, Covid (like the flu and colds) becomes more prevalent and the rule is changed back temporarily where only vaccinated people can cruise. What happens then? We have already paid in full. My husband will not be getting vaccinated, so that solution is out. I would imagine this would affect quite a few people out there. Thoughts? I am leery of booking us for this reason.
  7. Yes, if one person gets the super duper drink package, the other adults have to as well.
  8. I'm confused now. NCL's updated Covid protocols say unvaxxed can sail but need a negative test result 72 hours before boarding. I read the Bahamas thing and that says the same. Am I missing something?
  9. I agree that you need to move on. If it starts to not work well, the rules will adjust to that. Just like on land. Everyone has a choice here and that includes the cruise lines.
  10. I agree that once you have sailed in the Haven, it is tough (although certainly not impossible) to NOT sail the Haven! I am one of those that far prefers to cruise less often so that I can. I loved hearing about your experience, thank you for posting this. We all need something to perk us up a bit! 🙂 We sail the Haven on the Prima in February and I am so looking forward to it! Our last cruise was just as the pandemic was beginning, in the Haven on the Bliss. Absolutely gorgeous and my favorite Haven so far. I heartily suggest you try that one sometime.
  11. I believe she mentioned it because she is a very loyal NCL cruiser. And that status means a lot to her, if not NCL. Or you.
  12. I like the one on the left, but both are really pretty.
  13. We sail out of Port Canaveral in February. We plan on getting Uber from airport to the PC Hampton Inn and Uber the next morning to the port. Have had a number of recommendations for the Hampton Inn so I'm good with that. I have never done Uber but my sister has so I have assigned her that portion of our logistics! lol
  14. I just find it mildly entertaining that even with a benign subject such as this one, there are a couple snarky comments. For heavens sakes, folks. :-0
  15. I always prepay. It locks in the price and one less thing to worry about.
  16. No reason for anyone to blast you on this. It makes sense to me, and I am not a grumpy old curmudgeon. 🙂 When I am in the Haven, I do venture out for some meals, an occasional casino bout, a show, the shops, etc. But mostly I am in the Haven as no other place on the ship is better! And I am paying a lot for it, besides. I like the relative peace and quiet there. It's my "home" for the week and I LOVE it.
  17. It depends on your cabin. Ours is a 2-bedroom and it is not under the restaurant. Love the location--so easy to get to the restaurant and lounge and the sun deck.
  18. I don't write a letter. But I do put together a short list (4-6 items). They have always seemed appreciative and it has worked. We certainly don't tip in advance. Just not necessary and it feels weird. (But if you want to, for sure do so.) We don't have much in the way of special requests beyond emptying the fridge and our choice of daily snacks. Oh, and take away the fruit bowl please--take it for yourself and enjoy! (We always bring a bag of those mini candy bar assortments and leave some each day for the steward and butler. As well as certain bartenders. The staff LOVES sweets, in my experience.)
  19. Sid, it's been a great ride-along with you. Wonderful pictures, wonderful review--as always! Have fun today. And safe travels. The Tribe has missed you!
  20. Looks like 3 died in Havana. But I think the comment was unnecessary as the person who made it was referring to Florida. 😞
