Hello everyone, we will be sailing along with another couple. This will be cruise 18 for me and 19 for my wife and our first trip to NY city and the first Southern Caribbean for both of us.

We sailed Valor last week. Still no tournaments. All platinum and Diamond members could go to the cage and they paid $25 cash.

It may depend on the ship, but I’m going on a 4 day on Valor on 8/18. I can let you know when I return.

It is against policy. Do people do it and get away with it, yes, but there is also a risk of having it confiscated.

I’m sailing on Carnival Valor next week. I’m almost positive our letter for this cruise said there are still no tournaments. Same deal, $25 in fun play.

From my experience, the staff works their tails off. I tip because I know how little they get paid and how many hours they work. Do I think my dollar tip is going to get me special treatment at one of the lido bars on a sea day when it’s three people deep all trying to get a drink, no.

I just read this to my wife, she said that’s such a good idea, I should do that as well, so she can periodically count my $1’s to see how many I’ve had 😂!

Hello, just curious for those who get the Cheers package if you add addition gratuity on top of what is paid when you buy the package, no judgement either way? I typically add a dollar or two but, I think it’s more because I’ve always done so when out at a bar. Also, A deeper question is, if you do add an extra tip, does that money go directly to the server, or does it end up in a large bucket that’s split after the cruise amongst all the staff? Thanks!

Now that I think about it, this doesn’t have to limited to Valor, does anyone have any memories or photographs of any of the Conquest class ships before they were renovated? Like, what was there before the Red Frog Rum Bar or Blue Iguana Tequila Bar or any other changes you can think of?

Hello, my wife and I are cruising on Valor in August. We cruised on her in 2009 and 2011, prior to the 2.0 refurbishment. For the life of me, I can’t remember what the main areas like the lido deck looked like prior. Does anyone happen to have any pictures they can share of the ship before the renovation? Thanks!
