If there is no availability to upgrade your cabin when you purchase Club Orange, ask them to book and charge you as a guarantee in the lowest cabin of your category and then give you your booked cabin as the upgrade. Is that clear as mud?

There are 4 I category cabins on deck one that are larger. Then there are larger insides on each deck around the midship elevators.

You might be able to go to guest services on the last night and pay your friend's portion with their credit card. Then let the rest go through yours.

I haven't tried to charge directly for a cheaper drink, but on a previous cruise we were able to charge for a drink that we bought for someone else. So it didn't look like we were sharing the SBP.

Regardless of religious affiliations, I think everyone likes to share celebrations and good will. On our last cruise, along with cash tips, we had chocolates, cashews, dried mango and Mi Goreng (a ramen made in Indonesia) to give our stewards. You should have seen the smiles on their faces. I don't think they were faking it. Next day they said they had cooked it up and shared with their friends. I know they will buy the same noodles when they are in port. I understand that money has value but so does the human touch when you're away from home for so long.

I haven't cruised or even travelled since early 2019 and feel like a novice traveler. I know to do the cruise check in and fill out their health questionnaire before leaving. We'll fill out Verifly app for the cruise. We'll be flying from Ottawa to Fort Lauderdale, connecting in Newark. We'll clear US immigration and customs in Ottawa. Is there any benefit to use the Mobile Passport Control app? Is this app helpful for disembarking the cruiseship in Fort Lauderdale? Will we have to fill out a US health attestation with our vaccination records? Looking forward to finally be back cruising.

My daughter also tried to get the OBC as she teaches spec ed. But was told that it doesn't include Canadian teachers.

When we've changed a booking the PCC just transfers our deposit from the cancelled booking to the new one. It doesn't have to be that difficult. And I agree that your booking confirmation should have all your extras listed.

There are some ships that make regular East and westbound full canal transits. It could mean using different cruise lines to do it all.

I think both beverage packages have a limit of 15 of both alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. You also will not be a able to pay for coffees on your keycard. Every drink goes into the SBP. If you'd like to pay for the cheaper beverages, you should probably buy a Beverage Card for that. Any unused balance will be refunded at the end of the cruise.

I don't think you will be able to do Canada/ New England cruise and the Alaska cruise on the same trip as they both sail in the same season. 1-sail or fly from UK to Montreal or New York/Boston. 2-repositioning cruise from Montreal to Florida. 3- Panama canal cruise to California. Then if there is time you could do a cruise to Hawaii or a coastal up to Vancouver. Unfortunately in this scenario there will no longer be any ships in Alaska Have fun planning.

This is some extra information for anyone who might need an accessible cabin. You pay for the cheapest cabin in your category but then assigned the lowest accessible cabin in that category, regardless of price. It is written up somewhere in the fine print of their policies. I'd guess that most agents aren't aware of this. At least that was the policy some years ago. It could have changed by now.

You want your agent to give HAL your credit card number because you want the cruise payment to go directly to HAL, not to your agent.

Good reason to take a picture of the open mini fridge on your departure day. It will have a date and time stamp on it. Of course, you could guzzle a few of the beverages after you take the picture as you're leaving the ship.
