Have done Amazon river twice. As a retired teacher, I found best gifts for us to give were small box of crayons with blank notebook, pencils with sharpener and writing paper, blow up soccer balls. We visited a small village on the river. Took some extra supplies to the teacher. She was very grateful Enjoy your adventure.

Purchase the laundry pkg. Out one day, back in evening or next day. Cuts down on # of casual clothes needed. Be 4 or 5* receive free laundry!

This is a wonderful cruise. We love the sea days with cultural activities and talks about the various ports. One cruise had a bird expert that we would meet with at back of ship to identify bird species. Quite interesting! As has been said HAL does an excellent job with your laundry. Hope you enjoy!
