  1. You said that twice. Meanwhile, I don't recall anyone stating how much they tip
  2. LOL, none of this bothers me at all. Why would I care how many people are in a room? But my logic and original response would be the same if that's what you're asking.
  3. Yuck! I have never been on a cruise longer than 5 days, but I never had this playing on lido on a sea day! Was it maybe because of the weather/rain?
  4. You are right. Their share of the $16. But I was specifically talking about cabins that hold more than 1 person. And I know doubles and triples that ask for it to not be cleaned everyday. And a lot of people keep their space clean. Not all solos use less towels. In fact, not everyone takes a shower everyday. But whether there is one person or cabin in one cabin, the shower is still as dirty. I don't know specifically what they clean on a daily basis. I have a cleaning lady that comes to my house and her rates are based on the size of what she is cleaning, not how many people are using the space. I think the only "less work" they may do for a solo cruiser in a multi-person cabin is have less beds to make. Which is something, esp considering the upper pullmans, but they are losing money on that no matter how you want to look at it. I'm sure they would rather have that extra bed to make for that extra $4-5 per day.
  5. True. But I think the cruise lines factor in a cost for the service and divide it by the amount of people the ship can hold. So if a room steward has a cabin for 2 and only person shows up, they do sort of get cheated on the other person's $16.
  6. My perfect Carnival cruise day is one which I am on a Carnival cruise 🙂 Not getting up to an alarm for work, not scooping cat litter, not making lunch the just the right amount of mayo scraped onto the bread, not worrying about what to make for dinner, and lastly not doing the dishes from said dinner!! Finding a sun lounger near a pool/waterslide and a bar is a bonus.
  7. Did they have the digital embarkation? I heard the debarkation from this cruise was really messy, so I assume not, but John Heald just announced today that it is now on all Carnival ships.
  8. I said messenger. Carnival states that Whatsapp also works. I never claimed to have tried that.
  9. Prices of drinks just went up FYI. A mixed drink is now $12-14 and beers are pushing $8.
  10. I love me a good Nathan's hot dog. I grew up going to Coney Island. I might have to bite the bullet and buy one when we are there.
  11. That's a lot of empty chairs by the pool! Doesn't look like we will have any trouble getting some. We intend to have a pool day when we are here because all the excursions are far away. Even the Carnival ones. And even though the ship will wait for us, I don't consider it a good time to sit on a bus for 3 hours round trip for a 2 hour excursion.
  12. Are you able to see in the app how late the bars are open? I know the casino bar is typically the only one open past 11pm, but I know Horizon doesn't have a bar in the casino anymore. Are there any free group fitness classes? Do you have a schedule and the prices of the "for a fee" group fitness classes? I know I can prepurchase a class pass for the duration of my cruise, but I'm looking more for "per class". How much is the brewery tour at Pig & Anchor?
  13. I used the social media internet package on Elation in June, and I was able to communicate to everyone via facebook messenger and imessage no problem. I did not try video calls, but I believe audio calls are just fine. I have read that whatsapp works the same. This will only work on the ship though. If you need to use your phone in the ports, AT&T has international day pass for $10/day. I will have social media internet on my next cruise, and I plan to use the day pass if needed in the ports (mostly just to be able to use Maps).
  14. It does if everyone has an iphone and can use imessage. Also works for Whatsapp and others. I haven't used it for facetime or facebook messenger video, but others have said it works just fine.
  15. Right. Cruise cash is use it or lose it. You are better off paying down the S&S with whatever means you choose.
  16. You can also pay it down with Carnival gift cards. I did that on my last cruise. You can get $100 gc's from AARP for $90.
  17. Do you know how much it was for the "Master the Martini"? Is this the same as the mixology class where they show you how to make drinks and then you make them?
  18. Much appreciated! Enjoy your last day-and-a-half 🙂
  19. Thank you!!!!!!!!! Now...how exactly do I find this when I get on board? We sail next Saturday! Is it in the menu somewhere if I click the 3 lines at the top left? I have never, ever seen these items in the app before.
  20. I want to know this information too! I saw your response with the screen shots. Is the info for Circle C and Club O2 in the app as well? Could you post some screen shots of those? Also, are you able to see the camp times from night 1 (looking for info on the meet and greet).
  21. What is the "free internet"?? Does that just mean the ships wifi that you use for the HUB app? I am enjoying all the food posts!!
