  1. Love this being from Northern England which so different from the south. So Breakfast is easy. Dinner time is around 12 noon. Tea time is the evening meal, around 6pm. Supper is the sneaky snack you shouldnt really have before bed. Afternoon tea, is a ridiculous concept where people drink that most awful thing, tea, and eat too many cakes, and have sandwiches with the best bit cut off. Not sure where you fit this in, after having all of the above, unless you want to be huge. High Tea is not something I am familiar with. But it sounds wrong. lol
  2. 1 YEAR and 3 days. Groans. And groans again. I know I shouldnt be wishing my life away, but............groans
  3. Just for the record, and I think I have stated this, I have no issue with folk dressing up. And you certainly wouldnt get looks for doing so. As long as you didnt give me looks for wearing my budgie smugglers in the MDR.
  4. Yeh but did that fella throwing stuff at it make it any better? I have seen it, and just looked and thought "is that it? What's the fuss about? There again, I do prefer modern art.
  5. What is a wife beater shirt? Others wearing shorts doesnt bother me. Some of the ugliest legs arent on fellas. If women can wear short skirts then fellas can wear shorts. Just get a wash, put on some deodorant and aftershave, and a clean shirt. There. My dress code. If we are really going whole 9 yards then I would ban beards, and all facial hair, as I would rather sit.near someone in Bermuda shirts than a beardy with food stuck in it.
  6. I am 56 years old and I have never worn a tux and never will. I wont go into why or what I dislike about black tie occasions, events. Having just left celebrity reflection I think you would be lucky to fill one of the public toilets with those dressed up. If celebrity can afford to put on a specific event for so few then they have too much money. Infact I think most people now are even avoiding the speciality restaurants as they all seemed empty, and all cruise they were doing a garden sell trying to get us in them. The things most adults seemed.to enjoy were the sunset bar, the martini bar, and the passport bar. Listening to some of you long time cruisers it seems.cruising had changed a lot, a very lot.
  7. Well when you out it like that.......lol If asking people to have a shower and not stink like boris johnsons underpants then yes......I want a dress code. It's a pretty loose description of a dress code mind.
  8. Well I didnt say that. And I agree there are standards that any decent human would adhere to. But she did make the distinction between those that dress up to the nines and the others being more likely to be slobs I happen to disagree, and quoted the very well known slob from the UK in a very prominent public position. That person should put people off wearing a suit ever again. Clean and tidy with a decent deodorant is all I require. No other distinction necessary
  9. Ooops. Just to clarify I didn't get a free wife when I booked. I got wifi Just incase some of youa re disappointed after reading that.
  10. We booked whilst onboard this year for next year on beyond. Reduced deposit 600 dollars of on board credit. Premium drinks Wife And gratuities All included. In have no idea if the overall deal was good though. Couldnt price check it whislt sitting there, and now darent. Lol Not sure what we will do with the 600 dollars mind. Struggled to spend 300 this time. We dont do speciality dining every night as its just too much. And we dont do that many excursions either as we enjoy the ship, especially when most others get off. Sp overall in have no idea whether it's a good deal or not.
  11. Did it male it any better to look at? Sorry but I dont get it. The mona lisa.
  12. Can you define dressing up in this context? With regards to slobs? I would imagine most would be highly offended at being called a slob, if that context is merely for not wearing a suit. Infact i would be hoying you overboard if you said that to my face.
  13. No doubt you are right. I have always had an issue with ties, and top buttons. So much so, i struggle to sit near someone else wearing one and looking uncomfortable. Strange I know. It was even a problem at work. Back in the day when fellas wore suits to work. Thankfully those days are rare. I once suggested a sales rep could remove his tie in a meeting, as we both looked uncomfortable. I do still find it weird when I hear Fellas say they are looking forward to "dressing up". I know very few who do that. Very very few. I did once say to my wife that I would take a suit if she put it in her case. She very quickly suggested I didnt need one lol. She likes clothes, I like other stuff. Easy. I did notice on Chic night, that we werent offered a photo, whilst the few really dressed up were, on the way into Blu. Still, it was only Celebrity that missed out on a possible sale. We just took a selfie instead. Not that I look at photos afterwards. Still havent looked at them and have been back a week.
  14. just eat healthily, eat well, and burn more calories than you take in. Avoid all fad diets. They dont work for most people and cause more harm than good. And you can eat loads on the ship and still be healthy. Swap all sugar drinks for sugar free. Easy
  15. This may surprise some, but Florence. Just not my cup of tea. Nice Pizza though. This year at Pompeii was slightly disappointing, A lot of what we saw last time was closed off. Still an amazing place though. Corfu was a little underwhelming too.
  16. too many waaaaaaaay too many 370 something. Arghhhhhhh
  17. Some people that wear suits are slobs. Some very public figures. One very notable one in the UK. It would worry me hugely to have to buy a shirt on the ship mind. Not sure wearing a shirt with the celebrity logo on it would be a good thing. Although I could have some fun with bolchy guests who think I am crew. The possibilities are endless with that one. Still dont get those that want to spend hours dressing up in uncomfortable clothes just to eat. Especially fellas. I DO agree though that getting washed and being clean isnt a stretch for anyone. Or shouldnt be.
  18. Ahhhhhhhhhh So long to wait till our Beyond cruise and all messages like this do is make me wish my life away. LOL Cant wait.
  19. Once you get used to them they are just like a normal verandah. Getting used to them is the issue. Just come off reflection and we loved having a traditional one. But we were on Edge in 2019, and I still loved it. But Edge is such a beautiful ship it more than makes up for it.
  20. This x 100. Just come off Reflection Had read it was tired and in a state. It was awesome. Like others have said, people moan about the most ridiculous things. It's not in Celebrity's interest to have people on a ship that's in a bad state. Wish I was still on reflection now. Been off it 7 days and missing it like an old friend. Would give a lot to be back on now.
  21. Ah Dubrovnik. My new.favourite place in the whole world. The old town is.5-10 minutes away from the port. Dont miss out though. It's a wonderful place. Winter is coming.
  22. I love sea days. I explore every inch if the ship. To use it to sleep seems a strange concept to me. I dont do onboard activities though. Another thing I despise. Forced fun. Theres plenty to do without the need for the adult equivalent of children's entertainers. In my view only of course.
  23. Each to their own. I have just never understood the concept of dressing up to eat. As a fella I hate dressing up, and hate suits. Quick shave and shower and clean clothes and I am good to go. Thankfully my wife cant be that bothered with dressing up either. She also doesnt get how folk spend so much time getting dressed whislt on holiday where every second counts. We want to enjoy every second of our cruise. Spending hours getting dressed up isnt on the agenda. Just seems a bit stupid to me But each to their own. I dont own a suit any more and have no intention of buying one. And I have never worn a tuxedo. I took some button down shirt sleeve shirts on my last cruise and looked in the mirror. I swear I looked like my old man. They have all gone in the bin. Polo shirts only from now on.
