Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. No, as mentioned in my initial previous post this is our first Carnival cruise, & personally a good cruise for us is plenty of sun and lounging poolside with a book. I am not planning on doing any laundry either 😬😂 it’s a holiday
  2. As a first timer on this ship….any hot tips you can pass on are welcome
  3. This will be our first ever cruise on a Carnival cruise…we are very much looking forward to exploring a new ship.
  4. We flew Brisbane to LA for 2 weeks prior to cruising back to Sydney via Hawaii on a Princess Cruise. not sure how long your time in LA is but we did Universal Studios and Warner Brothers under our own steam getting there by public transport which was easy enough. we did an organised bus tour of city highlights ( Venice Beach| Hollywood sign and observatory | Rodeo Drive) we also walked to Santa Monica Pier from where we were staying at Marina Del Rey. highly recommend looking into the LA GoPass for discounted entries. we hired a car to Anaheim where we did 2 days at Disneyland, before driving through to Las Vegas visiting plenty of free Route 66 museums and markers. Google maps was really handy for looking up these sight seeing things. We also did Hoover Dam which was absolutely amazing and wander the strip in LV. US is not cheap and we usually shared a meal as they were so big. enjoy
  5. We were on the recent 6-20th Coral Princess. Hubby C positive on Sunday 12th and myself with symptoms all week until also testing positive on the 17th. Whilst we had mild cases ( both strong negatives by Monday 20th evening) we couldn’t have asked for anything more from our cruise… Didn’t need to worry about cooking or even how we would get food ( no need to go shopping) felt like a post afternoon nap cocktail or post dinner night cap- room service was brilliant. we weren’t limited to normal room service either, we got the MDR for lunches and dinners to select from, we may have had to make our own bed when we asked for fresh sheets, but we could basically be ill in luxury. We loved it..
  6. We were on the same cruise and agree with your review, we were indeed very lucky with the weather and the gorgeousness of the Fjordlands. We were truly amazed and even the photos don’t give you the full awesomeness of the area. We had a great time despite hubby testing positive on the 12th, me having symptoms all week but not testing positive until the 17th so we spent all the second week on our room, making the most of the amazing room service including MDR menu for lunch and dinner and enjoying the balcony. We both had a couple of bad days but overall very mild and we were well looked after. Getting off was mind boggling with all us deemed close contacts - or still infected gathering after 930am at the Explorers lounge. This lounge with a capacity of 260, filled completely with overflow filling the hall and international cafe until we were able to get off. Given this was the result of 2nd week infections ( I would guesstimate 300 easy) even if the 1st week patients were only 100, that is a pretty big ratio. people reporting on social media testing positive when they got home as well. Mask compliance was the highest I’ve seen on board so sad the infection rate seemed so great. can’t wait to be on board again. The coral princess is my favourite ship to date IMG_0302.MOV
