He later confirmed he will be on the first three sailings, the last Mediterranean and the transatlantic. Five sailings in total.

I hope he lives up to the hype!

$139 for a 5-night solo cruise (oceanview cabin) on the Fascination in late 2013. Sure miss the no solo supplement days!

I have a B2B booked for later this year but am considering making it a B2B2B, even though that will still only be 10 days total.
The only downside I see to adding the third B is that it is a 2-day cruise on the front-end, and from what I understand Cheers and luggage porters are not provided on 2-day cruises.

Wee Jimmy is my absolute favorite CD with Carnival.
I agree. I told him I wanted to record his good morning announcement for my alarm. :p

It's always bothered me that the Q in Conquest is in upper case type on the side of the ship while the rest is lower case, but I'm pretty OCD. :p

I've always noticed that Barbados embarkations require you to pre-pay gratuities. Any idea why?

What if a person needs to be removed? Would it be better for them to be a no show?

The winery tour I thought was excellent.
I've heard very good things about the cheese cellar excursion so look forward to checking that out in December.
-
By the way, there is also 50% off for 50 cruises, 75% and a free cruise for your 100th!
A free ocean suite on a cruise up to 8 days in length on your 100th.

The Vista will be overnighting in Bermuda on Halloween of 2016. That should be fun.

For those of us on the transatlantic only out of Barcelona, a good many are staying at the Hotel Continental on Las Ramblas.
-
Those were my thoughts. The fact that there is a featured space for it, even on the deck plans, makes me think they will offer it more than once or twice per voyage, which is the norm now.

Hotels in The City of London - the business district - tend to offer very good value on Friday/Saturday nights. This is because their usual clientele are out of town.
Capital idea as I will be arriving on a Saturday. Thank you for the suggestions.

you cannot consume liquor purchased in the ship's shops or from in ports on board.
That notwithstanding, on some lines you can order bottles from room service. Obviously these are meant to be consumed on board but presumably you could leave the ship with a portion of the unconsumed liquor.

Upsells are rarely made to those having guaranteed cabins.
The (what-I-though-was) relatively cheap upsell we took to the grand suite was from a guarantee balcony.

Typical late night deck parties. Clear all the chairs, dancing, throw beads, conga line, etc. They usually have very good participation.

Awesome review. I have been on Freedom out of Ft. Lauderdale before but will be sailing on her out of Galveston in September.
Looks like I will just miss you in December on the Imagination!

I would hope the ship would receive at least some of the 2.0 upgrades before coming to the west coast in early 2017.

The past couple of times for me it has been an upsell e-mail rather than a call. If you were interested, the e-mail had an extension to call. I'm sure it is a much more efficient use of their time this way. I have mostly declined the offers but they offered what I thought was a very reasonable price to go from an 8E balcony to a grand suite a few cruises ago. That was the only one I've taken.

I'm platinum and my next cruise will be the first under the new format. I'm afraid it will be less fun than when golds were included. I loved the raucous, free-for-all attitude of it. That's fun to me. I'm envisioning a more intimate lounge with only platinums and diamonds to be much more "relaxed."
Does anyone have any firsthand comparisons?

For anyone heading to the UK first, then we have cheap carriers called Easyjet, Jet2, Ryan Air, monarch baggage is extra for getting to BCN.
I will be heading to Barcelona from Newcastle. Looks like a very reasonable fare doing some mock bookings.
-
Thank you for the review! I will be in the UK for four days prior to a transatlantic next year. I will check out some of your recommendations.

I thought the Hilton was nice, but not worth the cover charge, so to speak. Stick with Junkanoo.
