Caymus is up to $40 a glass now? It must be really good………. 😳Or a really good profit for Celebrity. We had Caymus on our last cruise but $40 is past the breaking point. Of course I might bring a bottle of Caymus onboard...

Celebrity is a hot mess when it comes to wines by the glass. Very few good Cabs on board. Sometimes they are not available... It would be an upgrade if they purchased regional wines for their ships. For example, why am I drinking Cailfornia Cabs in Asia when I should be drinking Australian Shiraz. At quite a few of the bars the higher end Cabs by the glass are not available.

And even then, there's no telling which agency is sitting on a block of cabins for a group, some or all of which could be returned to Celebrity's inventory at some point!
Are they not returned to inventory at the 90 day mark or before? Final payment?

Again, what we see online is not necessarily reflective of what they actually have.
Then why will they not let me book a cabin that is available? I am talking about the Celebrity website....

The revolutionized ships are very gray. I prefer more colorful decor myself.

How do you know? Unless you have a direct line to Celebrity's inventory, it's impossible to know the true status of availability.
Trying to book a cabin does not work??? If you cannot book a cabin due to being sold out then what am I missing?

Thank you so much for the compliment! We are glad to hear that Summit and Millennium are receiving positive reviews. While I cannot talk specifically about Constellation and Infinity, we have a long-term plan to ensure we are continuously making improvements to our fleet to meet your needs and improve the overall experience onboard.
We agree midsized ships are and will continue to be our sweet spot. Our Edge Series is similar in size to our Solstice series. This allows us to offer more of what we are known for at our core; elevated hospitality, dining experiences and accommodations.
Stay tuned for announcements about our modernization plans. We are dreaming them up and I can’t wait to share them with all of you.
Millenium is my favorite ship.
E class ships on the other hand feel more crowded, loud and shouty, due to their design. And then you have the dreaded IVs... A noticeable downgrade IMHO...

Our cruise was sold out and I won a Move Up offer. People cancel ... I would definitely bid what you feel comfortable bidding...

Which is what counts for the award.
Curious what you're considering average. The by the glass choices are nowhere near what they once were but I'd say they've dropped back to average, not below. Yes, some dedicated steakhouses, for instance, will have a couple of decent selections of cabernet sauvignon by the glass (priced appropriately) which Celebrity has pretty much dropped, but I'd put those offerings in the above average category. You can find wine lists for Ruth's Chris online, for instance. They vary by location and I'd definitely consider them above average (and above any by the glass offering on a cruise ship). The chain places that used to show up around here as comparisons to the MDR generally don't publish wine lists online and I haven't been in an Outback or Red Lobster (for instance) in years. I always considered them below average. Which is probably being excessively philosophical and not knowing what I'd call average.
Regardless, the award is for the strength of their list, which is heavily, almost exclusively, their bottle offerings.
I think when you consider Cabs are most popular and take a look at Cabs at land based restaurants (by the glass) you will agree that land based restaurants have a better selection. My comparisons are to local places that I have dined and we probably do have above average dining. It has been a while since I have dined at a chain.
What I consider average is probably different than others, but Celebrity seems to have holes in their Cab choices by the glass. And then they may or may not have it when you order...

A typical Celebrity ship has more depth and breadth in their available wines than the vast majority of restaurants. So why the surprise?
For by the bottle yes. For by the glass they are below average ...

We pick the old ship 😉
We do also when it is available. However with 5 E class ships this is becoming difficult and impossible in some cases. On my next Princess cruise, there were zero Celebrity non E class ships that did the itinerary. So I chose a different line with the IV being the reason.

They're an award based on the wine list, which is going to be the bottle selections. Which are honestly pretty impressive. When you get into the quality of wines that would win these awards, the prices are high, but not out of line with a high end land-based restaurant.
Yet Celebrity dining is not comparable to a high end land-based restaurant... Not a fair comparison IMHO.

I thought that the answers were disappointing, and some were not answered. I was not impressed...
Why offer to do this if you are not going to impress most people?

I do not think that they could have someone contact me and find a cabin for my next voyage as their choices on E class for a real balcony are either a suite, SV, or porthole. As I have stated above a porthole ranks below a real balcony. A SV would be OK, but it is more money and located at the rear. And the suites are a bunch more $$. I would sail a luxury line before I would sail in a suite ...
Celebrity needs some real balconies in the middle of the ship. I have no desire to compromise in order to sail E class again.

The porthole cabins
The porthole cabins only count for about 75% of a balcony as they are obscured and located at the front and back. I want a full view and not an obscured view. I would not settle for one of these as I would not settle for a IV. I also prefer midship.

There is a question for the president to address the lack of dress code enforcement or to change the rules. I wonder if she will respond ...

How big are they now? How big do they need to be?
It’s 87F outside right now. I don’t open my windows. I want to keep the heat and humidity outside.I think that an additional 5 ton AC unit per IV would be adequate to cool them down in a timely manner. Going from 90 degrees to 70 degrees is a big ask.

We are currently on the Reflection. I haven’t had a good cup of coffee yet (I usually make americanos at home) until last night when I asked for Baileys in my americano. Solved my problem immediately. 🤣
The Al Baccio Expresso Martinis are very good also...

We have cruised on Windstar, Azamara, Viking, and Silversea Expeditions. We currently have another expediton booked with Silversea, and we have ocean cruises booked with Azamara (4) and Viking (1). We also have a Nile River cruise booked with Ama, with whom we've sailed twice before, in Europe and Asia.
How did you like Windstar?

It is a disappointment on E class where you don't get a front view.
On S class it is not bad at all. You can visit the Sky Lounge and get front views for all.
