I don’t care to answer this. Your responses are usually more substantiated .

The statement I answered to claimed that everyone! shares the dislike of IVs.

Without joining the endless discussions about this type of stateroom, nope is a correct and short answer. Many people, including us, quite enjoy those IV staterooms.

it really has no effect on us what kind of sausage brand you like, or if you enjoy an IV stateroom or not. And frankly, it shouldn’t to anybody! It’s still remains a fact, that the statement is simply wrong. Some people like them, some people don’t. There is no reason to missionise the one group or the other.

You may want to reread the post.  They referenced baloney.  And you responded otherwise.

  2. For sea-sickness it is totally understandable.

Our last cruise was a move-up bid.  We moved up for less than half of the cost of purchasing the cabin outright.  We had a good location.   We moved from inside to Aqua.

Will I do it on my next cruise?  Likely not.  I like my next room location for my Celebrity cruise.  I may do a bid on YC.

Just ask for whatever mixers you prefer.

There is usually a couple of tonics in the mini-bar already but they will happily provide more of whatever you want in that regard.

I suspect that most people don't even bother to open the 'free' bottle of spirits and just opt to take it home, as the YC lounge bar is only a short distance away...

    Thanks.

I was wondering about why I would open it.  I think that I will just ask for the champagne,  and bring it on the cruise right after my YC cruise.

Speaking of IVs- we were recently in the Sky Lounge listening to a steel drum musician and the wall behind him was a constant stream of advertisements and one that was frequently shown was for IV therapy!

Hmmm.  Are they going to start charging for the no advertising option? 🙂

We are on the Millennium in December.  I thought it used to appear somewhere on the Celebrity website.  But, as experience as shown, while a particular wine might appear on the published list, it may not appear on the ship.

On our last cruise the printed menus were a bit different than the electronic version on the app.

Not sure what “refusal” you’re talking about.  I have done my homework.  Celebrity is perfectly fine because I can spend $8,000 for two in Aqua in Japan on a 11 day cruise, not including airfare.  I am perfectly happy.  I have spent twice that in the Retreat.

All those people saying ”but it includes ginger soap in the bathroom and an excursion to see the Dalai Lama” are missing the point.  I don’t care what it includes if my total cost is $30/40/50K.  If I want to spend that kind of money, it won’t be on a cruise.

And yet you are the one saying it costs 50k for a luxury cruise and then comparing it to Celebrity's least expensive ships 🤣  I can find better pricing.  Much better pricing.

My Apex cruise in an SV is more than my YC cruise.  Go figure...

Ah, not necessarily.  Especially for long distance international runs, transportation is running up the price.  With round trip international business class air, you can get to $50K pretty quick these days.

As for price comparisons for a cruise that seems to fit what's being discussed:

Silversea does a 14nt run encircling Japan in April, and if you buy just the cruise without transportation, the entry level Silver Nova cabin (the Superior Veranda, which is considerably bigger than an X Sky Suite) for two will cost $28,200 all in.

If you buy one of the slightly shorter cruises (12nt) offered by Celebrity, the 'not really equivalent' SS 12nt cruise in a Sky Suite in April 2025 with Celebrity is $27,476, but you've got shorex & etc. to add to that, and it will wind up costing you more on Celebrity for less days in a smaller cabin.

Well I would assume that the 50k was without flights?  I would not include that in the cruise fare myself.  One could book an upscale cruise and then fly in economy plus for 12 hours.  Bang for the buck.  The cruise is for 2 weeks.  The flight is for 12 hours.  Most hours will be spent sleeping or having a sip of wine.  I would book the Grand Poobah suite and fly in economy plus myself 😁

Did not require signatures from whom and for what?  Any drink you could order by the glass?  That's definitely not SOP anywhere on a Celebrity ship.  Still confused.

We had the premium wine package.  Unfortunately to get a decent Cabernet there is an upcharge.  Gigrich Hills, Caymus, etc.  We had a bunch of upcharges.

Blu did not have us sign a receipt for these upcharges.  Every other bar did.  Now Cellar Masters mid cruise figured out that they could have Blue make the charge and save the headache of us having to sign multiple receipts.  A plus IMHO.

SOP or not,  I don't think that you should turn your better customers into autograph signers for every little flipping charge.  Again IMHO.  I still had to sign a bunch of flipping receipts for the upcharges ...  But my hats off to Cellar Masters and Blu for finding a better way...

IMHO since there are zero drinkable wines on the Classic package and only a few under Premium,  they should add another tier, if that is the way that they are going to price wine by the glass.
