Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It was foreward yes and was out of action for the first few days of our cruise. The Captain told us it had a pulley system that didn't work well in rough weather, so to keep it in service later it was taken out of service on boarding. Along with another. If you can understand any coherent reasoning from that explanation I'd love to know. I assure you that was the reason he gave but he also gave the impression it was working.
  2. We were speaking to the Manager, I asked several times to fill in a formal complaint form and sign it but was told that wasn't company policy. I asked if we could move somewhere private but was told there was nowhere, I wasn't even allowed to sit down. Unfortunately it was the day before disembarking and we had packing to do, photos to choose and collect and we were getting nowhere with the "manager". Taking it out of service was the Engineer's decision she said but at that point he had not been informed. We were the only ones in the lift which was really unusual. It really never crossed my mind that they would doubt what we said.
  3. It concerns one of the lifts which first of all closed as normal then a notice came on the button panel saying get out immediately when the doors open, the doors would not open and no one answered the emergency button. Then it started to shake and dropped from 12 to 5 still shaking and warning to get out flashing. We went straight to report it and Guest services was extremely busy as it was day before disembarking. I was still shaking and crying but we were not offered any privacy or allowed to put anything in writing. There was quite a long gap between us reporting it to an Engineer contacting us and the lift remained in service all the time. That is the issue that concerns me most, that it wasn't taken out of service and the main point I wanted to raise so our experience couldn't happen to anyone else. I also wanted to know if they could offer some privacy to anyone upset whatever the circumstances, I don't mean angry and abusive, which we weren't, but having a natural reaction to being really scared.
  4. I don't know what they would do if we put everything that happened on a public forum. Also there will be some who would rather write abuse than help.
  5. On our cruise starting 23.9.23 we had a safety incident which I can't get over. We followed all the correct procedures but the response from Guest Services was completely inadequate and left other Guests at risk of the same thing happening to them. Having done everything requested on board I feel that the situation now needs reporting to the Executive Board and I wondered if anyone knew of a contact who is responsible for safety. I made it clear at the time I am not looking for anything other than doing all I can to prevent this happening again. As an indication of how scared we were we have cancelled our next Princess cruise and lost a lot of money.
  6. Just off Sky Princess and that's exactly what we were told every time I asked.
  7. I'm onboard a Princess Cruise at the moment, not my first, and I can confirm that CS has deteriorated to the point that I would never set foot on this beautiful vessel again. It was only April we were last on and the difference is startlingly obvious. Wherever you are on the ship someone is talking about the huge drop in standards and attitude to paying customers.
  8. I would have appreciated an e mail at least, it's not as though they don't have it. I got through to customer services today and the poor girl couldn't answer my questions it seems that
  9. Yes so was I, and when I asked for it in writing I was told there was no need to change it. I have a disability which affects my walking so room service and a film if we've been on an excursion was a great way to relax and be ready for the next day. I'm not convinced yet that another layer to this new system is not lying in wait.
  10. If others feel the same as you then won't the Casual Dining experience be just as busy? We have upgraded to Premier but when the list arrived of our additions Casual Dining was not mentioned and I cannot get anyone from Princess to put in writing that it is included. Room Service is also left off. I feel the changes are not quite complete because of this.
  11. I must have taken 20, not one acceptable ironically last cruise the photo was taken at port but Princess but 6 months later not acceptable. So fed up with this
  12. We hope to visit Quebec on Sky Princess in October, its somewhere I've always wanted to go but never dreamed I'd get there. Usually the sea and the ship come first but this cruise is so special for me.
  13. I am assuming you have more qualifications to make that judgement than the Captain.
  14. I don't think anything anyone writes will mean anything unless it is about money. Interesting you feel so strongly when not on board. I am boarding on Saturday which is why I've been following the posts. If you do book, with any cruise line, I suggest you read the small print in detail. Possibly the more expensive of them would compensate, I have no idea, but in my view that's something to look for when taking out insurance. I believe as this was a repositioning cruise those on board would have paid a reduced fare, and at this time of year the majority would have understood the weather might necessitate a change in the itinerary. When you purchase most things there is a disclaimer attached, I don't believe keeping the vessel, passengers and crew safe by adjusting the itinerary is deserving of anything but praise and gratitude. We will have to agree to disagree.
