  1. Thanks everyone, any answer to the above as totally new to cruising. Thank You
  2. Regarding the shows in the Tropical Theatre, before you go to the show, do you get drinks and bring them with you ? or can you order drinks at the show ? We have the Key, so we are allowed in the reserved balcony seats, same question as above for here. I have read here that the reserved balcony seats are not always the best seats, where would people recommend to get seats or can you reserve particular seats in the theatre ? Thanks
  3. Thank you for all your replies. Is there a site were I can print out individual deck plans ?. On the Royal Caribbean, the deck plans have maybe 3 decks on the one page. Thanks
  4. Thank you both. For anyone who have been on the Serenade of the Seas, what is your favourite part of the ship, I know people will have different favourites for different reasons, so just curious.
  5. Hi All, thank you for all your help so far. We are on our first cruise on Serenade of the Seas (Alaskan Cruise) in August 2020. Can I just ask a few questions regarding this ship, Shows..... are there different shows each day in the Tropical Theatre ?? Each day is the same show on at 7pm & 9pm ?. Viking Crown Lounge......Are all guests allowed into this lounge, the only reason I ask is, it is in the same area as both the Concierge & Diamond Club. Cafe Latte-tudes..........It states for this area that there are charges for drinks...........We are on the Deluxe Drinks Package, are there still other charges or additional charges. Mini Bar in Cabin...............Is there a separate charge for the Mini Bar when we have the Deluxe Drinks Package. Thank You in advance
  6. Not about the Cabin, but what time do the specialty restaurants normally stay open until ?? What times for the Windjammer ? Thanks
  7. Sorry People, just posting this again here as I may have put in the wrong discussion about an hour ago Hi all, thank you for all your help so far as we will be on our first ever cruise in August. I have found the discussion on tips very interesting and helpful and I know different people have different views on tips and that is of course fine. Call me naive to cruising anyway and don't get me wrong, I have no issues with tipping. I booked our cruise over 8 months ago and I included pre paid gratuities in my cruise. This I thought at the time would mean I did not have to worry about all that because as new cruisers we would have no idea what way to tip. Now I find it seems to be the norm that you do in fact tip extra. That makes me wonder why I pre paid gratuities in the first place. Now it also seems that some take off the pre paid gratuities at the start of the cruise and pay direct at the end. There also seems issues with, if you pre pay, do the right people share in that which is a surprise. So, after reading this discussion I actually, now, as a new cruiser, feel the need to tip extra and yes, I know many will say, that is not the way you should feel but I just don't want to feel or look awkward if extra tipping is going on. Genuinely by nature, cruises are expensive and I am sure like me, first time cruisers are not aware of the full nature of tipping. I know for a start, when I booked our cruise, as part of the deal we got the Deluxe Drinks package and I know while it said it was part of the cruise (offer), this was factored into the price and I know full well, there is NO way as moderate drinkers we will get no where near the value from that so I know the Cruise Ship benefits from that not the staff. Anyway, I hope you don't mind me giving my insight from a new cruiser into discussion, I am sure I will be on again asking more questions (smiles) Sorry, just to add to the above, do staff actually know if you have pre paid gratuities ?

  9. Thank you all for the information, very much appreciated.
  10. Hi all, thank you once again for all you help so far as we are going on our first cruise on the Serenade Of The Seas in August (Alaskan Cruise) I was just wondering while we are on the cruise do they offer "Deals" while you are on the cruise. I read somewhere that they have things like Cocktail of the Day etc. We do have the Ultimate Drinks Package so this is not a good example for us (smiles) Is there any other deals that we may encounter while on board or late in the cruise, be it, for dining or anything else ?? Thanks in advance
  11. Thanks CB at Sea. As it is our first cruise, we have the Key so we get lunch on boarding. As far as I know, that is from the Chops Grill menu but in the MDR. Would that be a good time to ask and actually see the tables up on level 2 which have more space ? Thanks
  12. Thank You All for your very helpful replies. Just another question if I may, I know I can change the times on our Trip Planner but as stated the earliest is 6.30pm. Is it possible when we board on the first day or even after it, to go to the Head Waiter on any of the days if we want an earlier time like 5.30pm as we are on MTD or is that a No No. Thanks in advance
  13. Thank you. Is 7pm for dining a bad time then in relation to show times. Are there different show times and what is the normal times ??.
  14. Hi All, thank you all for your help so far. We are on our first cruise in August on Serenade Of The Seas and on My Time Dining. Just a few questions. The earliest we are allowed to book is from 6.30pm. so just to have reservations, I have booked all nights for 7pm which I know can be changed. Is there a reason I could not book earlier (assuming the MDR opens earlier) ? What impact will this time have on shows ? If I have a reservation and there is a queue when we arrive, do we by pass that queue as we have a reservation ? I have read in some posts that there may be a separate queue for those with The Key which we have, is that correct ? Thanks in advance.
  15. Thank you, yes my mistake, we are on the Deluxe Beverage Package.
