  1. With all these "free" drinks promotions I have to believe that the vast majority of cruisers are signed up for this. What are your experiences onboard with getting a drink in a timely manner?
  2. We just finished a cruise on the Vista. The ship was absolutely amazing except our room. We had a handicap accessible balcony, room 6207 in the front of the ship. Room was beautiful but had one flaw. At night the whistling noise was nearly unbearable. Room attendant said there was nothing they could do that it was part of being in the front of the ship. Just cautioning users about this room.
  3. does anyone have any experience with cruising this ship with a wheelchair? Largest we have done to date is the Glory. We have done Paradise many times as well as the Pride and enjoy them a great deal. I have to push the wheelchair. Just trying to gage things.
  4. I went to read reviews for this ship on this board and that's where I saw them. I still plan on booking this ship just was curious. Thanks
  5. I want to book this ship but have been reading so many bad reviews of this ship? Is it that bad?
  6. I've been looking at the deck plan for this ship and can't seem to find the sauna and steam rooms? Do they exist? If so where?
  7. I currently have completed 22 cruises on Carnival and have 2 already purchased bringing me to 24. If I sign up for my 25th is this the one I get 25% off or will it be the next one? Anyone have any experience with this?
  8. Does anyone have any experience with these handicap accessible cabins. They are called interior but still have a window (1001 and 1002). My wife and I are looking at booking one of them since they appear to be very reasonably priced.
  9. it would be nice to hear from recent experiences
  10. It would be nice to hear from people that this actually happened to and their actual experience.
  11. thank you for those that have tried this. To those that are saying I am "gaming the system" I would say, "so what". I have done over 20 cruises and these cruise lines get lots of money out of us both with add ons as well as lots of casino action. I am just trying to help family enjoy a cruise at a reasonable price. These increases have been unreal lately so when I once see a "deal" I want to take advantage of it.
  12. I was on this for the 1st cruise after dry dock. This was only 2 nights since the 1st night was canceled due to the ship being delayed. The ship is beautiful and very clean. The new Non-smoking casino annex was very hot. Hopefully they will have figured that out. We loved the Havana bar and live Latin music. Only saw one show and it was typical. Dining room was nice and food was average but what I expected. I would definitely recommend.
  13. I should add I did a test to see. I booked a 4 day out of port Canaveral for 3, ocean view. The price was $225 for first 2 guests, $109 for 3rd. Port fees and taxes for roughly $450, total $1007. If I don't show 1/3rd of the taxes fees would be refunded so the cruise would cost $857 plus we get $200 on board credit? Am I missing anything?
  14. I'm an avid cruiser and get many, many nice offers from Carnival. My sister only goes occasionally and of course doesn't get the same offers. I was wondering if the following is possible or if anyone has ever tried this. Can I book a room for 3, including me getting the offer and then not show on the cruise date and my sister tells them at check in that I had an emergency. Of course they still pay for the cruise and the port/taxes should be refunded for me. They then can go on the cruise.
  15. We were lucky with a call from our PVP on Wednesday offering us the shortened 2 night cruise. We need a handicap and this was the only one left. BTW we disembarked this morning and being Platinum we were asked to gather in the main lounge. Much to my surprise it was packed. I heard several hundred rooms became available when original cruisers canceled due to the shortened length. Being local this did not bother us and for the price it was amazing
  16. Just off the Vista, beautiful ship, great entertainment, so many bands especially the Havana Bar. My one issue is that our room, 6207 was so loud from the wind I wish I had ear plugs (yes that loud). Be careful with this room. Anyone else ever have issues with wind noise in their room?
  17. Looks like it is just meandering. Did they make their ports for this cruise? Is anyone on that can give us an update? I leave on Friday.
  18. I finished a cruise this past Monday but it still doesn't show up when I logon to my Carnival account. Anyone have any idea how long it takes to show up?
  19. Regarding embarkation and debarkation...both were exceptionally smooth for us. Debarking was interesting for me. First I lost my sail and sign card. Not a problem, when I left person scanning cards simply asked for my room number. He punched it in and up popped my picture. He let us through. Next you are split into 2 lines. One for those with passports and one for those with birth certificates. We had passports. they had a scanning iPad device that looks at you and matches your picture (which was taken when you embark) to your passport. That was it. We were then motioned to simply leave. Nothing else.
  20. Just did a short 4 day cruise on the Paradise to Cozumel and back out of Tampa. Our cabin was perfect, our room steward was great. Food was just ok but not terrible. Cozumel is always fantastic and the drinks at Fat Tuesday were very strong. During the first 3 nights the casino was nice. Blackjack didn't take away but it didn't give much either so it was fun. My one dissatisfaction was on the last day we had cold rough weather which kept everyone indoors. On top of that it was the last day of NFL so the bars were packed. Carnival should have had contingency for this. It took forever and I mean a very long time to get a drink. I was playing Blackjack and even the pit bosses couldn't find a server to get drinks. It made for a frustrating day. If there were no outside activities due to weather management should have shifted people and jobs. I can personally attest by watching 3 gaming tables that nobody was able to get a drink in a timely manner. I guess that helped me since I stayed a bit more sober and was able to focus better on the cards and was able to pay everything from my winnings but I would have rather been able to get a few drinks. Would I do the Paradise again? Yes I would she is a classic and for 4 day weekends nothing is better.
  21. Just curious what the current platinum gift is.
  22. Can any recent (post dry dock) give their impression of the ship. Did they notice any changes worth mentioning? Were the rooms refreshed? Any update would be appreciated. We have a cruise on the Paradise next month. Thanks.
  23. Doesn't Carnival usually give notice of a price increase? I just noticed a 12 Pack of water went from $9.95 to $11.95. Still getting it but it would have been nice to have a heads up. Oh well. They know they got us.
  24. Is there a way to know the daily activity schedule before we board? I have a very anxious daughter that is trying to figure everything out. She would like to know what are each of the deck parties or main atrium parties? I know once onboard we can see all this thru the app. We are doing a 4 day in January.
  25. Heading on the Paradise in 2 weeks. Just curious how the casino is paying out. I like Black Jack and Craps? How about other ships? How much do you allocate each day? I'm thinking $250 a day?
