  1. I get yourpont. You are being deliberately disingenuous instead of being clever, and you know it. Do you want to argue semantics? I'm not interested.
  2. THanks! I've been iffy about the Brazilian venue.
  3. I was asking for your opinion. Now I believe I will pass. TY
  4. FIRst time on NORwegian. WILl be on the Escape. WE have specialty dining reserved in the following reruarants: French Bistro Italian Seafood Tapanyaki (spelling?) Cagney's steakhouse Brazillain What is the best dishes in each venue? what can we expect? ALSo, how is the Supper Club?
  5. I"M sailing first timeon the Escaape transatlantic April 8. I See they have 3 MDR. IS the menu rotation the same each night? Also, I was recently on a Royal Caribbean ship and it was awful on mmany fronts. How are the deserts onboard?
  6. Your example is not a not code, it's a custom. You chose to focus on the semantics. How is it that you have determined fomal dress in the evenings is a unofficial 'code'? I take Cunard's policy at face value. It's quite clear. To suggest otherwise does a disservice to those that attempt to follow the written policy in conjunction with what makes them comfortable.
  7. exactly how do you determine an unwritten rule?
  8. Since you are changing cruise lines, you should expect there to be differences. Dress is one of them. You should be prepared to have two formal nights and the rest as one would wear to a nice dinner out at a fancy restaurant. If that isn't to your liking, then Cunard will likely not be to your liking.
  9. That's our thought. This is a very special trip. My mother is 88 and unlikely to travel to Europe afterward. Cost is a secondary issue. Convenience and ease of travel is primary.
  10. We're going to Southampton the day before embarkation. Just a habit we have for making sure to accommodate any unexpected issues. We embark 8/11
  11. The car service is picking us up at the hotel in Paris and driving us to the hotel in Southampton. As part of the trip we will be taking the car on the train through the Eurotunnel. We have 3 people, three large suitcases, 3 carry-ons, and two folded walkers. So a very large SUV. The cost is 2000 Euros. (which includes the cost of the train). Still interested in the link?
  12. I've hired a car service for the three of us.
  13. We are US citizens flying to Paris, FR for 1 week and then driving to Southampton for a 1 night stay before embarking on a transatlantic back to the US. Do we need a visa for the UK?
  14. The beverage packages got way out of hand. It makes perfect sense to have non-alcohol, classic and premium. Trying to personalize so that each person only gets what they will actually use is ridiculous. When you take a cruise, you either buy into an all-included experience or go do something else for vacation. IMO
  15. I dress strictly for comfort on a flight. But...I always fly in a day early too...especially during winter months. I always carry toiletries/meds, bathing suit, coverup, pj, and 2 changes undies and change of clothes in a carry on as well..
  16. If there are folks whose luggage never arrived, they will have to make do with whatever they have. Likely whatever t-shirts/shorts until the first port day, where additional tourist t-shirts etc will be added. I certainly wouldn't be buying over-priced sportwear at a port for cruise that is only a few days in length.
  17. 🙄next someone will want a discount because although there is a pool, they don't use it. Discriminating against non-swimmers!
  18. We love deck nine. Sheilds us from the direct sunlight.
  19. If anyone asked me any of those questions I would hit the roof! Thirty years ago I went into PC Richards to buy a very expensive appliance, but no salesman would come help. I finally picked on and started to tell him what i wanted, and he told me it would probably be better if I came back with my husband since it was a very expensive purchase. I had the cash in my pocket!! I have boycotted them ever since.
  20. you 're analysis is flawed in numerous ways. You have no idea how the finances for the cruise industry in general and Celebrity specifically works. Even if you are a share holder, attend shareholder meetings and pour over the financial reports, you still will not have clue as to the key drivers of the business and the impact of the recent pandemic. If you find there is not sufficient vale...please just go elsewhere.
