My and my daughter will cruise to Hawaii from San Francisco in September with Carnival. We don't have any excursions booked yet either in Kauai nor in Kona. Are those such a ports that we can just walk around and do some shopping please? Any suggestions about places we should see are welcome.

We are cruising September out of San Francisco and have booked Carnival transportation from the port to the airport. How do we know which time we should pick up for disembarkation please?

Stepping into this one 🙂 I think that Carnival ship is Miracle and it departure form San Fran and Princess ship is Emerald from LA. I think that Miracle is much smaller ship than Emerald, does it affect a lot if the sea is rough? Which port is more convenient San Fran or LA? Is there any difference? Being a non-US this is something to figure out for me.

Sorry to intervene to this but how about weather from LA to Hawaii in summer months please? Specially during July.

Thank you all from your replies. I didn't realised that the ships will go to Alaska for summer months. Well, I think that I just have to keep looking if some cruise line would have some Hawaii cruised from LA or SF year 2024. Cruise from Hawaii could also be nice but the flight from Finland to Honolulu is at least with two stops and 24+ hours so it is not an optional choice.

I have checked the options for Hawaii cruises either from Los Angeles or San Francisco. I haven't been able to find cruises during the summer months. i.e. June, July or August even in September. Are there really nothing during those months please? Is it due to a weather or something?
