If ship if docking out of an area that has banned gatherings such as large groups, wouldn’t the cruise line have to cancel? I.e. California and NYC.

We canceled ours. We still have our reservation but are now 80% sure we wont go, so no bidding for us. I went to my account again today and it said not eligible to bid....hmmmmm
If you canceled, why would you still have access to bid? Also when is the cruise for? We may cancel also. Are you getting $ back or FCC? Thanks!
-
Perhaps trying to pocket more $ before canceling.... and with loss of profits and now with all the future FCC trips; who’s to say a cruise company won’t file bankruptcy before the FCC’s kick in. It would be their cheapest option. The FCC’s credits will be useless. No care for customers.

More cabin choices Lol
Lol! Still tough with all the uncertainty going on. But lower bids could win. Chance to take giving them more $ and not knowing if the cruise will really happen, ports open, peace of mind “on” the ship lol... etc.

Looks like the virus is getting worse, before better. Not sure when the safe zone will be. June may be world peak and who would want to go on cruise then. Plus with all these FCC passengers and such a loss of profit; prices will skyrocket.. and who’s to say the cruise companies won’t bankrupt before the FCC’s kick in. It would be their cheapest option. The credits will be useless.

What cruise is that? I'm hoping their are a lot of cancelations for the Pearl in June. The prices are still running high for New England / Canada
How come you’re hoping for a lot of cancelations?

There are several Haven room types. Which ship? Normally mid hundreds is what I've seen reported as the lowest.
Would be encore. Looking over pictures now. Does not all Haven have balcony’s? Also some with balcony’s look small/obstructed ones. Thanks so much!

$2,000 even if pp is not high for a three bedroom garden villa.
True. It is a 3 bedroom.
Do you know of a good bid to move up to the Haven from balcony mini suite?

Our minimum bid from a mini suite to a 2 bedroom is $1800.00 for a June 7th sailing . Fair bid is $2700.
Is $1800 bid per person? Also is the 2 bedroom mini suit part of the haven? Thanks so much!

Just received an email. Saying this option is beginning March 10, 2020. Happy they made this happen!

Sailing on Pearl April 8. Booked Obstructed Oceanview (OK). We put in bids slightly above minimum for balcony (min - $50) and mini-suite (min - $75). Others on our roll call reported getting upgrades with similar bids, although I believe they were in regular Oceanview (not obstructed), but we hadn't gotten upgraded yet. With all the price drops and added free perks, we ended up paying to directly upgrade to the lowest balcony category (BD) for $13 (total, not per person), which also includes all FAS perks plus $200 OBC. It was a guarantee balcony room, and today we were assigned our cabin midship, deck 10, BA category. We are ecstatic about this, and will not be placing any upgrade bids for higher categories, even though we could now bid for a number of different Haven and non-Haven suites (and a minisuite). Minimum bids range from $500 for a non-Haven penthouse suite to $2000 for Haven 3 bedroom villa, from our current balcony cabin.
Congrats on your upgrade!
$500 to $2000 that’s high!!! Wonder what most end up paying to win bid. Didn’t realize they go up that high!

I did bid on an upgrade for a June sailing . If things don’t improve, we may cancel. If my bid is approved , will that be refunded if we cancel?
The temporary modifications to Norwegian’s policies are as follows:- Final payment for all June and July voyages will not be due until 90 days prior to sailing.
- Up until 60 days prior to sailing, the cruise line will allow a transfer of the reservation to any other cruise that departs on or before June 30, 2020. The transfer voyage must be of equal or greater value, prevailing rates will apply, and penalties will be waived.
- If a guest chooses not to sail, the name change restriction will be waived up to 45 days prior to sailing. Name changes will be permitted for the cruise reservation only and excludes flight arrangements through Norwegian Cruise Line and/or pre-purchased travel protection.
June bids were offered already? Which June date are you sailing on? We’re end of June and haven’t seen anything yet re bids. Thanks!

I had an inside cabin, casino comp, booked through CAS. Called last week due to the decrease in prices on my cruise, and was able to upgrade to a balcony for what I consider an OK cost. Upon the upgrade, was also entitled to the 3 night dining package, the $50 per port excursion credit, the drink package, which I already had, and the free 250 minutes of internet. So I went from one perk to 4.
What is CAS? Thxs

What does the higher insurance that NCL include? The more $ level version? Does it automatically add CFAR or do you need to ask for it specifically?

Cruise lines have to do something to protect workers and passengers; health wise and all dangers. This is crazy. Very sad.

Yes, we are cruising from NY. With recent US cases now, and unfortunately will be more... how would they leave from a port of a highly populated area that may have an increase with the virus?

Just an FYI but there is a really good CC forum for Cruise/Travel Insurance. Tons of helpful info.

I just got off the Pearl. I originally booked a balcony. Tried to bid for an upgrade to the lowest few levels of Haven suites. I bid $520 but it was declined. Im Platinum Plus.
Would think that was a high bid?? $520 still wasn’t enough. Thanks for giving amount!

I think Coronavirus is on the ships. I think its inevitable with so much of the crew being asian.
Im just off the Pearl, cruising in the Caribbean. There was a lot of coughing......a lot. Is it Corona? I don't know but there was something that swept the ship. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next week or two its revealed that there is an issue. Its going to be an issue with all ships who employ people from Asia.
These employees worked the holiday busy season on the ships and then the ship lets a lot of them go on their yearly break in January because its less busy. Now that it's late February they are returning back to the ships from their vacations back home. I really wouldn't be surprised.
Great point re workers back from vacation! Hasn’t been brought up yet. Also, with all the coughing, were they testing passengers?

Upgrades to Haven suggestions? Is it worth it?
What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid
in Norwegian Cruise Line

So if you canceled now it would just be a FCC. If they cancel, would be $/refund back and taxes refunded also?
thanks! Trying to figure out what to do as well🙁
