Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The ETA is 1630 today. On the past several trips she has arrived at 1730 hrs. That's an improvement. My guess is that the generator issues are resolved but the vibration issue is limiting the no. of turns they can put on the bad shaft/prop.
  2. I pulled that name off the web, so it must be right.😁
  3. Did they ever open the Michelangelo dining room and close the shaky one in the stern?
  4. also copied the Pres. of Princess and the Customer Relations Director for all the good it will do; but it made me feel better by venting to the only ones that can do anything about it.
  5. Just mailed this letter : 27 May 27, 2022 Ms. Jan Swartz Group President 24305 Town Center Drive Santa Clarita, CA 91355 Dear Ms. Swartz: I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am in Princess Corp. handling of the recent events concerning the Crown Princess. I understand that equipment failures happen unexpectedly, and you have little control over them but the way your staff handled the cruises affected was totally unacceptable. I believe the generator failed shortly before the 7 May sailing and the ship’s speed capabilities were understood by management at that time. Schedules were adjusted through the end of July and guests did not get to visit Ketchikan and had Icy Point (for 3 hours) substituted. Your team missed the mark again, because every sailing got into Juneau 5 hours late and not one sailing ever got to Icy Point. So here we are on 27 May and you are just now changing the itinerary to reflect the changes on the website but have not informed the guests of the changes. At least I have received nothing from Princess. The cruise that we booked and paid for over a year ago has deteriorated to an Alaska drive-by. We will have half of the time ashore that we paid for and the late arrival in Juneau precludes any excursions. The only full day we have in Alaska will be in Skagway. I follow the blogs (cruise critic.com) on the experiences the guests have had since Crown’s return to service and from what I have seen, you have permanently lost many customers because of your poor handling of the situation. Most feel that the $100 onboard credit is an insult and those that were offered future cruise credits felt they were worthless because they would never cruise with Princess again. The poor communication with your guests is inexcusable. I am a supporter of Princess and have stayed the course with the Crown but feel that you need to hear about the black eye Princess has received over this issue. Sincerely,
  6. Has Princess offered you any on board credits or other compensation for the changes and inconvenience?
  7. The address is @princesscruses not @princess.com I finally got through and set up the meet and greet for our cruise on 25 june
  8. I corrected that and it still was rejected. also tried customerrelations@princess.com to no avail.
  9. I tried Groupeonboardservices@ princess.com and the message was rejected. Any other addresses? Who was your contact on board?
  10. I got that reference from another forum. When I looked at our contract, I found this but I don't think it will help much. Better just negotiating with Princess. All Other Claims; Agreement to Arbitrate: All claims other than for Emotional Harm, bodily injury, illness to or death of a Guest, whether based on contract, tort, statutory, constitutional or other legal rights, including without limitation alleged violations of civil rights, discrimination, consumer or privacy laws, or for any losses, damages or expenses, relating to or in any way arising out of or connected with this Passage Contract or Guest's cruise, with the sole exception of claims brought and litigated in small claims court, shall be referred to and resolved exclusively by binding arbitration pursuant to the United Nations Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York 1958), 21 U.S.T. 2517, 330 U.N.T.S. 3, 1970 U.S.T. The arbitrator must follow this Contract and can award the same damages and relief as a court.
  11. I will put it up under live reports and see if there is any intrerest.
  12. If they get the generator fixed before 1 August, I would not be surprised if they don't go back to the original itinerary that included Ketchikan that many of us thought we were buying. Have been to Ketchikan several times but never Icy Point, so we would be happy either way. I just want the bars to be well stocked and the toilets working.
  13. We are on for 25 June. I am betting that by the time we sail, they will have worked out the plumbing and staffing issues. The mechanical issues seem to be getting better and the speed is picking up. From the posted schedule, the mechanical issues will not be fixed until the August sailings( I base this on the change in itineraries on the schedule). Good luck to those of us that sail on the Crown!
  14. How about setting up a Live Report on your current cruise instead of using the May 7? You may get a bigger audience. Just a thought.
