Here's another vote for Hotel du Vieux-Quebec. We stayed there ten years ago, and again this past fall. Just delightful. If you decide to stay there, book directly through the hotel to get their morning croissant basket. Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is amazing. Even better if you can get off season rates which are more affordable. If you're not staying there, consider a drink in the bar or breakfast.

Hi Grangerlady, I don't think that Windstar has the inflatable vests. I ordered one from Amazon and brought it. It's very lightweight. I also brought my own mask and snorkel.

I think you should go for it, grangerlady. Your husband could inflate his vest to whatever level is comfortable for him. I didn't think this was strenuous at all. I would recommend long sleeve rashguards and water shoes (not fins). I would also suggest you follow-the-leader as much as possible. It's fun.
