Hi there -we had our 16th January cruise cancelled only 5/6 days prior to the departure date & we were offered exactly the same - full refund & 20% off a future 2024 cruise x

Just a little update for those who WERE due to sail on 160124 - 260124 Muscat to Dubai Cruise. Having submitted proof of our visa purchases for Oman & Saudi Arabia & fees for pre-booked airline seats - SS (UK) have agreed (without issue) to reimburse me with those costs. However - people need to contact Guest Relations for this aspect of reimbursement - as opposed to the refund of the cruise cost - which is a separate matter & will be dealt with by a different department I suspect. If anyone requires contact numbers for guest relations in the UK - please let me know. I sent the initial email to guestrelationsuk@silversea.com and got a very quick response Have not received any communication from SS about time scales for the refund of the cruise package - which for us included the flights, hotel, transfers & cruise. Hope this might be useful to some....

So - I have been in touch with SS & my agent. Offer is for a full refund + 20% off a future 2024 cruise - refund will unbelievably take 30-45 days - but I guess it will come via the TA. Fortunately we booked flights etc as a package through SS - so it should be quite straightforward - sounds like if you booked your own flights & tours etc you will need to progress this through SS guest relations & provide receipts. This will all be clarified in correspondence from SS - directly or via your TA. Hope this helps - I rang SS direct to begin with best of luck 🤞

Hi everyone A massive thank you for posting this update on the thread. I haven’t heard anything from SS as yet informing us that the Muscat to Dubai cruise has been cancelled…… I think the writing was on the wall - a few days ago !!!! It is such a shame for all concerned - but I guess we are blessed to be safe from harm & be so privileged to be able to travel & sail on such journeys. Hopefully someone will be in touch soon & that I can look at a ‘last minute’ alternative trip to celebrate my 60th birthday 🥳 Stay safe everyone & thank you once again GypsyJennifer1 for posting the news as a priority. Good Morning Everyone My TA has called Silversea & then I personally contacted Silversea. I explained my concerns & the origin of those concerns - however SS confirmed to both me & my TA that ‘to their knowledge’ - the cruise & itinerary was going ahead as planned - they had no information to suggest that it wasn’t. Should that situation change - SS would communicate the update to my TA. I suggested to SS that someone view the relevant posts / link on CC & then provide an appropriate response. I am extremely grateful to those onboard for all the information that has been posted thus far & would be very appreciative of any further updates that become available. I will of course also update this thread with any additional information I might receive. Thank you 😊

That’s really interesting - thank you. We are due to board the ship in Muscat on 16th January & disembark in Dubai on 26th January. SS have only just advised us of a change in our pre cruise hotel in Muscat - so goodness knows what is happening. It would be hugely appreciated if anyone with knowledge of what is happening - to please post it on this thread - as SS have not been forthcoming with any indication that there may be some changes. Hello there We are due to embark on the Silver Moon on the 16th January - sailing from Muscat to Dubai. It is both helpful & lovely to hear about peoples experiences - wishing you all safe travels & perhaps we may meet some of you in Muscat - if anyone is staying on until Dubai 😊

I have booked guarantee vista suites on 2 occasions & have been allocated a verandah suite a couple of weeks prior to sailing - including our forth-coming cruise in January 2024 😊

Just checked & there are now some V1 & V2 verandah cabins available on the 25 day Istanbul to Dubai - price with economy flights is now from £9999 pp 😮

We have booked the Istanbul to Dubai Cruise on the Encore in October 2025 too. What an amazing deal it was 😊

To Jac M - my experience of bidding thus far on Azamara - is that I generally bid perhaps £50 more pp on the minimum bid. I have been successful on 2 out of 3 occasions. You certainly have nothing to lose on submitting a bid - the worst that can happen is that you remain in the stateroom you already have allocated. the balcony plus - gives you a ‘bar set up’ in your cabin - plus a dinner at one of the speciality restaurant- mid ship position & a slightly larger balcony- personally I think it’s worth bidding maybe £20 pp more than a standard balcony. i am waiting to find out if I’ve been successful on a bid for a sailing on the Caribbean on 170123 - will let the forum know…., but if you haven’t bid already - get it i quick as your sail date is so close - I bet you will get a response from Azamara almost immediately as to whether you have been successful!!
