  1. What a wonderful review and utterly beautiful pics. You certainly have a wonderful eye for photography!
  2. How could any ship have struck it? It was lit up like a Christmas tree. Something very wrong happened on that ship....
  3. NO - you're not crazy. I've done the same thing in the past.
  4. OP - I hope everything turns out okay regardless of what action you take. Being injured while on vacation is never fun.
  5. I've done it with my daughter (26-transatlantic/Russia cruise) and it was great. I wouldn't hesitate.
  6. Parent was correct but, as you indicate, it's not acceptable for kids or adults to engage in that - or other - disruptive behavior (e.g. drunken, rude behavior, etc.).
  7. Nah - it's like calling someone the "R" word. It's just not acceptable anymore.
  8. After final? No - you can get 50% to 75% back depending upon when you cancel. If you have cancel for any reason insurance, then you may recoup most of the loss.
  9. Cabin should be cleaned and last pax's stuff shouldn't be there. I think that's a reasonable expectation. Deep cleaned? Don't exactly know what that entails but they're doing lots of cabins in a very short time. As such, I don't think cabins are "deep cleaned" unless someone had an ummmm accident of some sort on the prior cruise. I always bring my own wipes, Clorox spray, etc. It may not do much but I feel better after I've cleaned the door handles, etc. (I do this every day after the room steward has cleaned).
  10. Never ever flush disposable wipe as they will kill your toilet. I, once, flushed a few Kleenexes and had to call maintenance to "flush" them out, etc.
  11. This is so unacceptable. When someone tells you 48 hours, the response must be within that time frame or a short call, etc. why they're still investigating. Have you emailed customerrelations@princesscruises.com? I've had a couple of issues and they always respond/resolve fairly promptly.
  12. It's always been per person. I just give extra if he/she is especially wonderful.
  13. My daughter and I have done several Thanksgiving cruises. Always lots of kids (no problem at all) and pretty full ships. We've thoroughly enjoyed each one (all went to Caribbean).
  14. Nah - that's a pejorative term and really shouldn't be used to describe someone. You should say the person didn't seem to understand, etc. but to label someone as a "flunky" just isn't acceptable anymore. Sorry - it just isn't.
  15. I have a feeling I'm going to have a very strange dream about that Kraken drink holder thingy tonight!
  16. OP - it appears it was a glitch on the website. As such, it was a mistake. True, it was RCL's mistake but companies don't have to honor a mistake or a glitch. It's good practice if a company does, but RCL doesn't have to. It doesn't appear to be a bait and switch if it, truly, was a glitch or mistake. A bait and switch is an intentional act. I feel for you because I would have been excited for the deal - but in the back of my mind I would have had an inkling it was a mistake. Anyway, I don't see any lawsuit worth your time as you received a full refund. You may have de minimis air change fee damage but suing them for that would cost you much more in time and money than it's worth. If I was RCL, would I have honored it? - YES, but I'm not so.... Good luck with your MSC cruise and I'm sure you'll love it!
  17. I'm in my 60s and I would love to try it!!!! Doesn't seem scary at all.
  18. I would try a different dining room or change your dining time to a slower period. Happy Anniversary!
  19. Thank you again for taking all of us along on your fantastic voyage. Your commentary is so helpful, and your pics are lovely. I realize how much time it takes to post this info, etc. so I think I "speak" for everyone in writing that we're all very appreciative!
  20. I did this very thing when on a 26-day Russia/Baltics cruise (Princess) with my five year old. She didn't want to go to the Hermitage, etc. (shocking) and, instead, wanted to spend the day playing, etc. Princess encouraged me to go given I was taking a Princess excursion (only worked with a Princess excursion). They assured me they wouldn't leave without me, and my daughter would be just fine. I had a great day, and my daughter had a great day. In fact, we took two 26-day cruises and several times she chose to stay onboard (although she now regrets (ten years later) not going with me to see all of the Beatles stuff in Liverpool). They always had my cell number, and I always had the Princess contact number. Not once did Princess leave without me, etc. I spend 24/7 with my kid as I'm a single parent but there are times when our interests diverge. Surely, that's not hard to "fathom"....
  21. I would call your Princess contact (or supervisor, if necessary) then and try to get it back or negotiate a true upgrade. It appears they, in fact, gave you a worse cabin and I would press Princess to rectify.
  22. Apparently, teenagers 16 and up (suite cabin) will be allowed. I think that's a good policy.
  23. Great move over offer. Thanks for sharing and have a fantastic trip with your mom.
  24. Call your travel agent ASAP and see if you can get it back or if he/she can negotiate a true upgrade to a balcony, etc.
