I appreciate the postings here, but we WANT to do a cruise, and we may NOT be going to see a plantation after all. It was just my thinking from years ago. 😞

Cr8tiv1, yes you may be right. There may not be any plantations to visit like I did 22 years ago. I'm sure we could go to Hawaii, but we were just thinking of Jamaica at this time, and there may not be any.

MarkK, yes I don't deny that I did that, as I did NOT expect ALL of you people to be checking out the DIFFERENT cruise lines that I was posting under. As I said before, the message has come through very CLEAR, and I do appreciate those that did NOT come down on me like some of you, but still received some good answers.

Bostonjetset, and others on here, yes YOU are right! As I said, I did not expect ALL of you to be LOOKING under ALL of these DIFFERENT cruise areas. EVERYONE'S message has come through very CLEAR!!! I do appreciate those that didn't come DOWN on me and gave me an answer that I could possibly use.

As I mentioned, I am just looking for a "working" plantation, as I don't remember what kind it was 22 years ago, when we were pulled around on a tram to visit it. As I mentioned earlier, I'm NOT as young as you all with your WORDS that you want me to use!

2shoes2go, yes we visited a Batik factory a few years ago, and that was very interesting. Thank you ALL, as you have given me some new ideas to check out. Yes, I figured I could probably find a plantation here in the states, but we are planning a cruise out of the states.

It has been many years since I have been to Jamaica, and back then, we visited a wonderful plantation, and I was wondering if there is any plantation in Jamaica that is still open to the public to visit?

Thank you for your postings. I'm still in the debate area about Jamaica. The reason I say this, there will be 7 or 8 adults, and I really don't see how we would have big issues with the locals, with us all together.

Milhouse, thank you for your post too. I hesitate about going, but I'm thinking since there are 7 or 8 adults that will be together, I really don't see how we would have problems with the people.

Some people on Cruise Critic do not know there is an area for Jamaica to ask questions. For those that do know know this, that is why I am asking my question here. If you have visited Ocho Rios in Jamaica on the Sky ship, would you give me your pros/cons of the ship and visiting this area as well?
