We will be on the Wonder next month and I wanted to see if anyone knows if they are doing this again and, if so, how it works? I know that on our last cruise AO closed from 5-7. But I recently saw a blogger mention that AO staff were taking the kids to the Windjammer for dinner on the Wonder. We generally prefer to have our son with us for dinner but we were going to try Central Park (which he has no interest in) if that was an option one night. Thanks!

I am just curious to those of you that cruise with your (non-adult) children at what age you let them go off to do things alone, or without another adult? In other words, unsupervised. Our son is too young but my husband and I have a difference of opinion on when that would be appropriate. Lol

Hmm, I though about the overselling possibility but then it seemed a little less likely since we have always seen the website update the # of cabanas left in real time. Also, we received an "early invite" email and booked right away. We have a Crown Loft Suite and are Diamond members but I guess it is possible that there are that many Star Class guests guests that booked ahead of us. In my experience they would not bump a Sky Class (or below guest) for a Star Class guest to purchase after the fact. We have usually sailed Star class and if an excursion is full we have never been offered to "bump" someone. Not that we ever would do something like that anyway, but that seems like a crappy thing to do to someone that booked before you.

Anyone have an idea what this is about? We received an invitation to to purchase this early as suite guests, which we did. I was assuming that area may not be open and ready by that date because the ship is still going to Labadee.

Today is the 30 day mark prior to sailing, so I decided to check out the Royal Up options as I always do (never successfully lol). I noticed there are two room categories showing an option to bid on (2 bedroom Aqua suite and 4 bedroom Villa) but these rooms don't appear to be available to purchase, nor have they since I booked. My question is do they offer room categories to bid on that are completely sold out or are there rooms available that don't show up to purchase for whatever reason? Sorry if this is a common question. I am not a new cruiser but this is just something that I haven't either noticed or paid as much attention to in the past. I am not remembering another time when I have been able to bid on room categories that were not available.

@cruz_happyDid you fly into Rome from the US? Just wondering if the flight in to Italy requires mask wearing since Italy is still requiring for “public transportation.” Delta’s website seems to imply that it is required but not 100% clear. btw- I am so jealous you got to sail on the Wonder! We wanted to do the Wonder for our cruise but the Odyssey was all we could get for the room we needed!

Fortunately, (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it LoL) we had Covid a little over a month ago and aren’t as worried about catching it… the next few months anyway. We are flying Delta but I thought it was a rule of the Italian government since it is considered “public transportation.”

Just wanting to make sure I understand the protocol for our upcoming Delta flights. We fly out of Atlanta to FCO next week and then back after our cruise on the Odyssey. It is my understanding we have to wear masks on our flight there but not on the way back. Is this correct?

Thanks so much for your reply! Do you know if RCCL accepts the same test for your pre boarding testing requirement? We are going to be in Rome a few days before our cruise and wanted to take the tests with us and then administer them at the hotel the day before we board.

We are sailing on the Odyssey in a few weeks and I am wondering if we can use the eMed test? It is listed under the testing section for Italy on RCCL’s website but the link to purchase them seems to only mention travel from North America. I would love to hear from someone who has personally sailed out of Italy and used these tests to confirm before I purchase them. Thanks so much!!
