  3. How and when does the ship provide information about disembarkation? On our cruise a couple of weeks ago I never saw or heard any announcements prior to when the started calling groups on the day itself. Our cabin steward mentioned that they needed luggage outside of the room by 10:30pm, but I don't think it is the steward's responsibility to let passengers know that. The only official information that I saw was about some luggage tags on the monitor by Guest Services, but I only happened to see that because I walked by. We had an NCL transfer to the airport, and our eDocs said that details would be provided on the ship, but again I heard or saw nothing. I feel like we missed something and I'd really like to know what.
  4. It certainly can't hurt to find out what NCL charges. I hope it would be less than the Uber/Lyft prices. I suspect they would not let you use the short excursion credit, though. I have not done an NCL transfer in NYC, but we just took one from Port Canaveral and I did not see any specific instructions on times. It seemed like they just put people on the next available bus and then left when it was full. I don't know if there is a beginning/end time.
  5. The standard is like sealed bids - you make your best offer and wait and see. They are implementing/testing some 'live' bidding but it seems to be limited to certain ships/cruises/cabins.
  6. That's exactly what makes it ridiculous IMO - to imply that NCL is doing nothing even if they are doing nothing different than before.
  7. I believe that this is part of their strategy. They want to move ships to higher-yielding itineraries. FDR mentioned this in one of the recent quarterly presentations and/or investor calls.
  8. Some of it might be because it is new. For example, has that particular type of mini golf been done before on a ship? Maybe that has introduced issues that need some time to be worked out. Having some holiday weeks with swarms of kids might have stressed some of these systems like they have not been before. I wonder if they had issues with the go karts when they were first introduced?
  9. I think almost all of the stains in your photo are soot from the exhaust. It was all over the Vibe most days. The midships funnel does not help. That said we did see other stains on some of the furniture. I think part of the problem is people messing it up with food from Indulge. Other ships seem to have more of a separation between eating and lounging areas, and where the two might still mix, like in the pool area, you have more industrial loungers that probably clean up better.
  10. I think that's too much of a generalization. We ate there for two lunches and one dinner. We arrived around opening time for all of the meals. For the lunches it was pretty much empty when we sat down and gradually people arrived. I'm not sure if it ever filled by the time we finished and left. For the dinner we found a seat but 5 minutes after the tablets went online there were no seats and the stand that I could see had at least 10 tickets on the rail.
  11. I was on the 12/16 sailing and the only broken thing I noticed was one of the pickleball paddles. I never saw a lot of people using the big slides but they appeared to be staffed whenever I walked by so I think they were working. I'm not sure about the kids' water slide; the only times I was up there were outside of their opening hours. I never went in the Galaxy Pavilion but I think someone mentioned games not working on the last cruise. I'm not sure about the 'common cruise drinks' thing. We did have to seek out a bar to get a Mojito, so is it really that they don't have ingredients at all or just that every bar does not have every ingredient? The latter seems quite reasonable to me. I had seen that one of the glass walkways was broken but that was evidently fixed by our cruise.
  12. I found George Town to be an interesting place to just walk around. It had a lot more of the local flavor than most of the Mexico/Caribbean ports that I have been to, meaning that you will be in the same place as locals eat, work and shop and not some tourist enclave. There are also some interesting old buildings if you are into that. Finally, there was the 'dancing policeman' doing quite a show of directing traffic. That alone was worth the short tender ride. All in all I'd say George Town has a similar vibe to Hamilton or St George's in Bermuda.
  13. We got ours online pre-cruise. I do not know if any were still available to buy onboard and if so where they were sold.
  14. As I recall Choir of Man was on Escape in January. We did not see it since we planned to do to the last show and it got cancelled.
  15. We ate at Cagney's, Onda and Palomar on Prima and I enjoyed them all. For me the differences were more in the atmosphere and layout, so unless you are asking with Prima in mind that's probably not relevant. I will say that I liked the food at Onda best of the three, but if you are on Prima I'd give Palomar a try since you can't get that anywhere else for now.
  16. We were on the Prima two weeks ago and liked the Hudson's MDR very much. We ate one lunch and two dinners and I did not notice any real difference in the quality compared to the specialty restaurants. Pretty much every table should have a nice view and some are spectacular (depends on how close to the windows you are) I also thought it seemed more spacious than most of the specialty restaurants. On Prima you also have Indulge, which is great, so if it was me I would be fine with just the two specialty meals.
  17. I don't know if it depends on the ship, but on the Prima a couple of weeks ago there were no wristbands. Maybe they are going or have gone away.

I have seen mentions of concerns about noise and privacy on the Prima balconies above the Indulge/Infinity Beach areas, so I will share my impressions from our recent stay in cabin 10348, which is located above Indulge. This was a full ship with warm weather so the outdoor spaces were being used heavily. As the photos show, the awning shields you from most of the Indulge area. If there are people by the railing they could look up and see you, but they would also be 'in the space' of people in the hanging loungers, so it's probably not somewhere that people would tend to hang out. I only saw people there once during our cruise, and it was early on when people were probably exploring the ship. You are in view of more of the Infinity Beach area, but that is much more distant. Also, people sitting/lying in that area are probably looking seaward, and it's a bit tricky to navigate so anyone walking should have their eyes on their path and not gazing upward. The above comments apply when you are standing at the balcony railing. I did not take any photos while sitting down but I think you would be completely shielded from anyone below. As for noise, the only time I heard distinct voices was when the people were at the railing in the Indulge area. I heard much louder conversations from the adjacent balconies which could happen with any cabin, so in my opinion the proximity to Indulge has a minimal additional impact.
  19. There are loungers on the pool deck, on the sun deck on 18 (I think) and also at Infinity Beach on 8.
  20. We just took the bus at PC. I didn't note exact times, but the only waits in the whole process were 15-20 minutes as the bus filled (we got on when it was around 25% full) and around 5 minutes while the driver unloaded the bags at MCO. Probably 1 1/2 hours for us gangway to airport.
  21. I would suggest confirming that once on the ship. We sailed on Prima on 12/16 and the show reservations were done in Syd Norman's, not the theater. While waiting in line we discovered that booking was also possible through the NCL app. I'm not sure about restaurant reservations; we had those done online prior to boarding.
  22. Restaurants are pretty subjective... We were on the same cruise as the OP and thought the food at Onda was excellent. My issue was that it seemed cramped; we were very close to the adjacent tables. I felt the same about Cagney's, except that we had an aisle on one side. Palomar seemed more spacious.
  23. I was there too. We got off the ship at around 9am and left the port at around 9:30 on an NCL bus. Traffic seemed heavy but was moving along at normal speed. And this was with 6 ships in port that day. Watch out for soot on the sundecks. It was a problem in the Vibe so I suspect it could be in the Haven as well. We just put a towel down anywhere that we were going to sit.
  24. The transfer area was at the south end of Terminal B near the Hertz counter. I guess it's possible that that would change since NCL does not appear to have a permanent dedicated counter. Your eDocs should tell you where to go. If you are on the early side when you arrive and check in with the transfer staff you will be given a boarding group number and then be escorted to the bus when your number is called. So if you don't all arrive at the same time you could probably just wait until everyone is there and then check in with the agents.
