  1. I often wear black sweats, black slippers and a polo shirt and have never been barred from anything. The only ones who gave me grief was DW and DD the second time at LeBistro. I indulged them the first night, but just had a big old "MY COMFORT IS PARAMOUNT, I'M ON VACATION DANGIT" attitude on the second. (disclaimer: both dinners were very enjoyable and it was not spoken of again)😎
  2. Isn't that always how it is? I honestly don't remember ever being asked my cabin number.
  3. Actually, in this day and age, it might be the parents who are "confused." While perhaps not totally confused, I didn't really "get it." That's okay...
  4. That is a LOT of eggs! Wait a tick..... Are you the guys that egged my house last week??(jk)
  5. How did you calculate the 20% or more that you tipped your housekeeper. Did you tip that person 20% of the room cost (including that silly "resort fee")?
  6. Other than Breakfast, a lot of us don't know what we want from the buffet until we get there and see what is being served.
  7. Thanks. I meant to say 7 business days (9 calendar days) in my previous post. I did get the immediate case # email when I submitted (it appears that is auto generated). It just showed up in my cruise summary and I haven't received any other emails. This is a really nice perk, especially since the NCLH stock is in the toilet. I can (and did) invest $1600 in NCLH stock and I'll get a $100 dividend for every cruise. We tentatively are planning to cruise NCL seven times in 2023.😎
  8. I'm finally on board with this (I admittedly had been asleep at the wheel). I bought 100 shares in a brokerage account and submitted the request a day or two later. Since I didn't have a proper statement yet, I downloaded an account summary that showed the brokerage logo/letterhead and the 100 shares of NCLH. I suspect that inhibited an "automatic" credit, but after 9 business days the OBC showed up in the cruise summary. I've yet to receive an email or amenity invoice. I'll get a "real" statement on Dec 31 and use that to request OBC for other future cruises. Has anybody had any problem getting the OBC awarded for a cruise that is more than four months out (i.e. before final payment?)
  9. That is really funny partner!!! 😎 I wonder how many will miss the joke? Fifty percent??
  10. Yes. This is unlike everything else in our economy where prices never go up.
  11. Which apparently never happened. Again, why??? Do you not want people to just enjoy their vacations? Do you really need to sprinkle misery on the fun of others? Get a......
  12. Yes. I'm OK with whatever happened. Haven't I already stated that about sixteen times? I was on a very enjoyable vacation and had no concerns about "overpaying" a hard working nice guy who took us to the airport. Why are you making such a big deal out of this?
  13. Thank you. I guess I wasn't robbed by a dishonest thief as had been previously reported. 😎 He was a nice guy, the cab was nice, the ride was "exciting" 🤣and I paid exactly what was agreed to. Some might call it a fair fare! 😃
  14. Well, that's the nice thing about living in a free country. We are free to develop our own opinions and they don't have to match the other person's opinion. One man's treasure is another man's 💩. Some see an uplifting story about a son forgiving and accepting his father so that they can live happily ever after. Others? Not so much.
  15. I don't know if this is correct or not. It really doesn't matter. The price was similar to what we were getting quoted from Uber and Lyft. I do know that some of the other yellow cabs were stenciled as $75 flat rate to the other airport. NYC was a mad house, and we got to our airport quickly and for no more than it would have cost to walk a block or two to catch an Uber/Lyft. You stated the following: I don't believe this is correct. How do you know so much about this stuff? Are you a NYC cab driver?
  16. Yes. It was a Yellow Cab Toyota Highlander, and the payment was processed through Curb. From their website: Join Curb, the largest network of Licensed Drivers in the United States Drivers that are licensed through their local city transit regulators are eligible to partner with Curb. Check out your market requirements to sign up.
  17. I don't believe that #5 is correct. I've only seen them call lower than platinum once, and it was only gold.
  18. I used to resist the Uber/Lyft evolution/revolution. It got better. I now realize that these are the right answers 80% of the time.
  19. When we sailed Joy in October, the only drivers I encountered trying to direct me to their car were cab drivers. I brushed off the first dozen or so, mainly so we could get across the street and catch up with DD. After that, a very nice but insistent cabby with a Toyota highlander won (after confirming a $75 flat rate to LGA), and he quickly grabbed our luggage and loaded it up. It was fun. Unlike the boring Uber drive into Manhattan.
  20. I've been on the Encore twice post-Covid. IIRC, every night was "theme night" and the theme was "FREESTYLE!!" 😎
  21. Jersey Boys used to be on the Pearl. That was before they had as many new mega-ships though.
  22. Absolutely. Where else can I roll out of bed and take a short boat ride to a pristine beach with all the free food and drinks I want. If I decide I've had enough, I'm back on a cruise ship in 30 minutes. Thankful indeed!!!!
