  1. Thanks. Actually, it says Sept 2019, so a bit more recent.
  2. Yep. Pre-existing condition waivers apply to cancellation coverages, which is why I qualified my statement. 😎 If I'm self-insuring for cancellation, I have no need to purchase insurance early (which likely won't be refunded if I do need to cancel the trip). I generally buy insurance with a 60 day look back for pre-existing conditions. If I have some medical tests coming up, I buy the insurance prior so that I'm still covered if something medical prevents me from traveling. I use Squaremouth to find and compare coverages. I know a lot of folks like that Steve guy's store, but I prefer to be able to compare a broader collection of policies.
  3. We absolutely need to get to the bottom of this. If POA doesn't serve alcohol while docked in Maui......NO DEAL!!!!! 😬 Maybe that Pinkston lady can shed some light on this.
  4. The check in time (arguably) doesn't matter, but getting to the terminal at nine-ish and checking in at the counter early does. It gets you into an earlier boarding group. If you are Platinum or above, it doesn't matter because you are invited to board before group one.
  5. No, it's not all the way forward. It's in the same location as on other breakaway-plus ships. The link I posted clearly shows this. Just click on the little camera icon and you'll see the bar. The other poster claimed that the bar was at the very end of the buffet, after the food. I'm guessing you meant that the buffet was "all the way forward?"
  6. Now you have. DW and I did this on a couple of cruises on NCL prior to their more generous FAS offers. This would be 8 or more years ago. We booked steerage and didn't receive any free dinners or drinks. I refer to this as the dark ages. We generally ate two dinners in specialty dinning and just paid the price. I do remember paying fixed fee at Tepanyaki in HI and Moderno in AK. The Tepanyaki was half off due to first day of the cruise (it was an error offered by an NCL tour guide, but they honored it for us and others at our table). The Moderno was awful (everything well done) and NCL gave us OBC on our next cruise. Got a steak at Cagneys and shared a side (no appetizer, no dessert). So yes, there have been people/suckers who paid the price. Would I do it again? NO WAY!!! 😎 Live and learn....
  7. I shower every morning. Doesn't everybody?? 💩
  8. Are you sure about that? Norwegian Bliss Deck 16 Deck Plans (cruisedeckplans.com)
  9. I'm guessing this is based on the assumption that a person is purchasing a policy with some level of cancellation coverage. If only for medical/medevac and trip interruption, then this can wait until just prior to departure.
  10. Yep. Thanks. We've done AK on Encore and Pearl (four times total), and have Bliss, Sun, Joy and Encore booked in the future. I recently sailed Joy in NE. As long as I make it onto an AK cruise I'm good. The rest is "details." 😎
  11. Thank you! We're sailing Bliss in the Spring and may encounter the same thing. No worries, we're also booked the following Summer, so we'll see that danged glacier eventually. It isn't going anywhere (at least not fast). 😎
  12. Did anybody other than NCL (not with a straight face) claim that it was?
  13. Wow. I've blocked one or two posters over the years (just to stay out of trouble), but this sounds like a "problem." (fully realizing that @AndyCapnhas probably blocked me and will claim to never have seen this) Why would a person choose to join a discussion forum and hide 2/3 of the discussion? That's just crazy.
  14. 🤣Don't sell yourself short. I could probably do it in 1 day, even if DW didn't help (much). 😎
  15. I only fly Southwest. There will come a day when I am forced to fly on another airline, but I experienced enough of that crap when I was working for Megacorp. AA is my absolute least favorite. I will avoid them like the plague.
  16. Yep. That said, "collared shirt" is meaningless. Hawaiin shirts have collars. Polo shirts have collars. Both are arguably as comfortable as anything out there. I actually prefer both to T shirts. This dress code stuff gets ridiculous. I have shorts that are much nicer that half of the "slacks" that the snobs parade around in. NCL has led the pack with Freestyle, but they're not quite there yet..... ETA: slippers qualify as "closed toe shoes." Ask me how I know.
  17. Yeah, it doesn't sound all that smart to me. We ate at LeBistro twice on our last cruise. The first time I let DW and DD twist my arm to actually put on nice cotton twill pants (please don't call them "Dockers," Levis s#ck). The second time, I stood my ground and wore my very nice (and VERY comfortable) cotton knit "sweats" that I already had on. They didn't like it, but a man needs to be a man some times. 😎 End of story? Nobody said nothing and I was likely the most comfortable person in the place. Does that make me "smart?" Maybe not, but I sure felt "smart." 🤣
  18. It could be more enjoyable! You don't feel like you're wasting large $$$$ on things you don't want/need, and you don't have to worry about really serious things like making sure that your butler brings the right snacks (which you also probably don't need). 😎 That said, if somebody really has to have the Haven to be happy, then knock yourselves out. Just try to understand that there are people in this world who can have just as much (or more) fun spending half as much (or less).
  19. I doubt that Southwest would lower themselves enough to participate in NCL air. SW has the best business model in the business (i.e. they are the only ones who didn't need to get bailed out after 911) and they don't need to resort to goofy things to fill their planes.
  20. I don't think you can use both platinum vouchers at the same restaurant. I could be wrong.
  21. Certainly, NCL clearly states two drinks per request. Do you have a source for the daily limit? I have never heard about this. I have zero interest in discussing the devastating effects that alcohol may have had on the Hawaiian culture, nor the ineffectiveness of government attempts over the decades to "solve" human weaknesses everywhere.
  22. Perhaps it's the hours that each ship will be there?
