  1. My wife is a teacher, so that is the main reason we are stuck doing cruises during kids' out-of-school vacations. But, as a teacher, she has no problem confronting rude and obnoxious kids. Sitting in the Neptune Lounge, reading. Everyone in there is enjoying the peace. A group of 7 teenagers comes in, takes over the big table, and becomes very loud and obnoxious. After a few glares from us and everyone else, the wife gets up and calmly confronts them all. This works for about 2 minutes then starts up again. This time it's the peeved teacher confronting them. A rather loud and rude boy isn't having it until I stand up and so do two other men in the room. The kids quickly left. The next time they came in and saw my wife and I, they were quiet.
  2. That's what I call the wife's shoe bag/suitcase, as she likes to have lots of options. 🙄
  3. Amazingly, this Legend is only partially helpful. There are no symbols on any of the Suite cabins (Pinnacle-4, Neptune-4, or Signature-3), at least on the Westerdam Deck Plans and Staterooms PDF I downloaded. I was also trying to figure out the difference in couches/chairs between rooms that are 3 people and those that are only 2 (Verandas), as pictures show they have the same setup. I guess one just has a pull-out, and the other does not?
  4. I just did a quick search of the cabins on Westerdam and I think all of them can sleep 3 or 4. So how would this rule make any sense when 95% of cruisers are couples?
  5. Does anyone know if you can cancel/rebook a cruise that you already have a deposit on to get the myVIP rewards applied? We have a cruise booked for October 2025 (I know, I would have to buy the $750 next Feb/Mar 2025 as they expire in the same year. Just trying to plan). We already have 2 CruiseNext deposits down, plus the extra deposit for our Haven room and a 10% off coupon since they had canceled our other cruise. All is done via our PCC whom we usually work with for all reservations and questions. I would cancel and rebook via the Casino program if they could apply all the same $$$ and discounts as I have now, ONCE I can purchase the $750 off coups (as long as they still have it next year).
  6. Club is the best of both worlds in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I will fight to get into a Haven Suite if I can justify the exorbitant price hike, but the Club is easily a justifiable upgrade over a Balcony or even an Interior (which, amazingly, we have never cruised in).
  7. Yes, there is an auto 18% gratuity added if you do not have a drinks package.
  8. Never happened to me in all my cruises. At least not that I recall. I've asked the "bus person" to get a drink before, and they went and found a server/bartender to take my order. Usually, they are busy so I just get my lazy butt back out of the chair and go get it myself.
  9. Well, it does reduce the price of the drink for you, as you only pay the difference now. So instead of paying $15 plus gratuity, you only pay $4 plus gratuity. PLUS the Signature and Elite package already limit your alcoholic drinks to 15 per day.
  10. The Aerodynamics of the aft pool area where the smoke does some very odd things depending on wind direction and where the smokers are standing. Was on deck 10 above on Westerdamn during sail and any shift in the breeze could bring all the scent and 2nd had smoke up into our faces. We just moved to another spot until it changed again. Surface dynamics and such.
  11. This appears to be happening industry-wide. Just watched a YouTube vlog on the guys trying to get ANY cocktail drink on Celebrity that was IN the standard package. They bounced to every bar and found only ONE mixed drink. Crazy.
  12. Depends on what type of ship you are on. About 2/3 of new builds are LNG.
  13. If you happen to be in a Neptune Suite I think you can get to the coffee machines in the Concierge Lounge, but I don't know what time those doors unlock.
  14. I usually carry a pocket knife but very rarely carry one of my multi-tools. 2.5" is pretty reasonable for onboard carry. I think other lines don't even allow that.
  15. I've been pretty lucky with the PCC we have. She is very good at finding out stuff and making changes. Heck, she even saw our fare had dropped by a lot and rebooked for us (before the final payment).
