  1. @Jim_Iain Jim, you indicated the noise level was too high, was this from the Central Plaza or was it from the kitchen? Did experience the same noise level on the Apex?
  2. I think the issue is the large increase in the number of suites. The Edge has almost 3 times as many suites as the Silhouette (176 vs 66). It's tough to give individualized attention and pay attention to detail with that many more people.
  3. Just spining wheels for me. Let me know when the site works consistently.
  4. For the first time in many, many years this is what I see on the Celebrity website and I'm not sure it will change anytime soon. High prices, E-class ships, a new definition of Always Included and the lack of longer itineraries have caused me to look else to send my vacation time. I suspect there are many other cruisers in the same situation. Maybe the new CEO will change the situation.
  5. It's all about attitude. Anyone can wear a thong with the right attitude.
  6. Every time I get close to using Flights by Celebrity, I read a srory like this one. I think I'll just beek booking my own flights.
  7. You can always use it as additional gratuities for the staff. I'm sure the staff will appreciate it.
  8. I don't have anything booked for Fall 2025, I'll take a look. Do we know if they have a salt-water pool?
  9. I remember when Celebrity bragged about the fact that the designers for the Edge had never been on a cruise ship. This is just another example that convinces me that they were telling the truth.
  10. We were also on the first two legs of this cruise and experienced all of those difficulties without the benefit of the Retreat Team solving many problems for me and my only recourse was to stand in the long lines at guest services or to try and find someone to print replacement documents for me. I'm sure LHB will have a great experience in the Iconic suite. If she really wanted to experience what the other 90 percent of the passengers experience, she should stay in one of the IV balconies. Let her experience the overworked stateroom attendants, the lack of seating in the Oceanview cafe, the Eden Cafe or the Mast Grill, a reduced selection of dinner options in the Oceanview Cafe for dinner, and the lack of staff in the MDR. If @Jim_Iain and @Norwaylady experienced poor service in the Retreat just imagine how the rest of the passengers feel. Then perhaps she will be able to understand that there are many longtime customers like me, that do not have a future cruise booked on Celebrity and have no interest in sailing with Celebrity anytime in the future.
  11. Pee isn’t the problem, it’s sweat and sun tan lotion.
  12. Since you will be coming back to steerage class, let me offer this observation. Priority for suite guests seems to be a lot more of an issue than it is on other ships. At almost every opportunity for disembarkation they seem to be assigning groups to determine your time to get off the ship and this can be a huge issue for people on private tours. I’m not arguing the right of the suite guests to have priority but it is a lot more noticeable on this ship. I think that’s because they almost 3 times as many suites as they do on the Silhouette (176 vs 66 suites). This is also an issue getting on the ship when there are boarding issues like we had in Athens and Dubai. For me, this is just another reason to avoid the E-class ships.
  13. I think someone would need to have a really big bladder before one person could trigger a “urine alarm “ in a pool.
  14. You’re 100% correct. I wish more people would follow my example and shower before getting into the pools or hot tubs. This would make the pools much more enjoyable.
  15. I’ve been on the Edge for the last few weeks and there’s no problem here.
  16. They are also handing out tickets to get off the ship which will add an additional delay for non-suite guests.
  17. During our trip on the Xpedition trip several years ago we never found the motion of the ship to be an issue while we were moving. My problem was at night when we were anchored. It was an odd motion of the ship as the breeze or waves pushed us around while we were tethered at the front.
  18. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a quick and smooth immigration in Sri Lanka but if everyone needs to open their phone and try to find the return e-mails it will be a slow process. I have my doubts that many will save a print screen copy that can be accessed without wifi or cell service.
