I think it was a all kids cruise. It seems there were no parents onboard, the kids were rude and just ran all over the ship even at 2am....Back to Celebrity for us.
Well lets see Christmas break for school.... file under DUH!!!

This is what everyone is getting excited for all the time?
Besides a couple freebees, it looks pretty worthless...
and let the "Thats all I get" begin!

Thank you! that's exactly how I feel. On our latest Allure cruise I was shocked at the black filth on top of the t.v., on top of light switches, etc. Of our 15 cruises, I'd say this was the dirtiest and smelliest (stale, moldy smell) room we've ever encountered. My sister in the stateroom next to us had the same complaint. Couldn't help but notice our attendent spent most of his time on the phone and didn't vacuum once.
The worst was the telephone. Disgusting. I give everything the once over when I unpack, but don't obsess over it for the rest of the week. It helps me relax. :)
We are like you in that we give the cabin a once over for about 5 mins (remote, switches, handles) and thats it for the trip. Lots of hand washing though. I dont like the purell stations but admit I like it when other people use them.:D

Nice job on the comparison. Could you please aslo explain the price difference because I think that is an important difference.

I will be sailing on the Legend on January 3. If my neighbours are smoking on their balcony I will politely remind them once of the new policy. The second time I will take a photo with my iPhone and call security.
Im with ya. May just skip the polite reminder. :D

They don't have to wait to start one.
Vegetarian restaurants on land are doing good business, and relatively charge more than "ordinary" restaurant. Get an able cook who can present nice veg dishes beautifully, and you will have to make advance reservation to dine in.
Good idea, my friend!

Good luck with that my friend!

Just plain rude!! From a non-smoker.
Too bad. Make smarky comments like smokers are going to cruise and I reply to you TOO BAD!!! You wont be missed. Ships will sail as full as before. Prob do better since non-smokers wont be bothered by others addiction. From a non-smoker too

Oh I thought you had to have 1 minor and 1 adult in each room. That's what my TA said anyway. Well it was actually a substitute TA since the one I work with is on vacation.
But in any case as long as my husband can get a card for my room that's what really matters. Also, if we have 2 reservations how does that work with MTD? Can I make one reservations for all of us??
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yes the mtd reservations can be linked

I understand the religious aspect but I also can understand the puzzlement in response from a waiter when someone requests and is disappointed in vegetarian choices in a steak house. For me I would never complain about a waiter/ess response in a vegetarian restaurant if I request meat nor list it in a review for I could imagine how that question would puzzle another person. I just don't understand some who are so militant that expect everyplace to cater to their beliefs (not to say the OP is militant, quite contrary IMO)....respect their beliefs and try to fulfill but not to complain when it comes up short for still most don't adhere to a vegetarian lifestyle. Cheers.
And you can bet that if most were vegetarian they would retrofit a vegetarian food venue charging an additional fee! lol

I think that most of the smokers will not be cruising Royal after 1/1/14. :)
good riddance!
-
Are you thinking Labadee rather than Falmouth since Royal has their own area? I know if checking out equipment, we used our cards on Labadee.
Yes CocoCay and Labadee since they are owned and run by RCI so yes the drink package would cover the same drinks as onboard.
-
Obviously, I would not assume I can use a drink package at any bar in Jamaica-but thanks for that great response anyways.
Well you didnt ask about Coco in your post but as far as your original question the answer is still no. Obviously not since RCI does not own Falmouth or any bars there. Your welcome and have a great cruise

Well I'm not a regular smoker but most certainly enjoy a good stogie with a fine glass of wine. I'm reading the tarot cards here and sensing I may have a problem on Oasis in Feb if that's what I choose to do. Sad.
Ex smoker here but still enjoy a fine cigar with a great wine. Been a couple years or more since I had one but the balcony is somewhere I can see lighting up so...
Hope your balcony is not next to ours or yes there will a problem.

Hi! I am sailing on the Adventure of the Seas next year, and it will be my first RCI cruise.
On Celebrity and Princess, we received a free tote bag in our stateroom, which we found extremely useful for pool bags/beach bags
Do RCI do a similar sort of thing?
not anymore

well spent over an hour with several departments and well i am glad you question what i posted. what they were trying to sell me was international calling. so you are right. Thanks.
but here is a tip in St. Maartin you are covered by your domestic plan.
You sure you dont mean ST Thomas? St Maartin is not US and St Thomas is.
-
Oh really? There are animal products used in cooking, such as lard, which are not obvious. I doubt that RCI does that but for years Nabisco used lard instead of vegetable shortening in their products.
Use alot of lard in your fruit salad and pancakes do ya? You gonna die cause they used nabisco lard in something? sheesh

Not all ships have the new packages with one person only.
Passengers on the current Voyager of the Seas departing Sydney yesterday had to buy it for everyone in the stateroom.
It applies to all ships as it is a company wide policy. Staff may be uninformed and if so just go to one of the onboard computers and print the policy for them. Using the RC website should be free.

Yes, that's exactly what I am saying, thank you! The fruit soups are an excellent example. I believe the pineapple-lychee soup was labeled as vegetarian, but a berry soup wasn't. It's unclear - does the berry soup contain chicken stock somehow? I think soups are probably the biggest culprits for mislabeling. Other foods it's pretty obvious. I agree oatmeal is overkill! But if labeling everything is the only way to get some standards...
As for those arguing a vegetarian shouldn't be in Chops at all - we had the all-restaurants package. We found out later we'd have been allowed to switch Chops and do another one twice, but it was our first and we didn't know.
How kind of you to make this decision for all of us. However, if this was a problem for you I'm sure you'd feel differently. No it wouldnt be a problem for me because I can use my brain. Dont need a sign to tell me pancakes or fruit salad does not contain meat. Thanks

Ofcourse a vegetarian can eat at Chops. Just dont be surprised if it is a little challenging.

Patron still excluded. As long as they had the wine and champagne at thar bar it was included. It just had to be in the package price point.
Strange because the patron premium margarita is under $10
-
Is the Select drink package still valid on "land" days. For instance, can you use it on a day in Falmouth off the ship.
Yes feel free to use it at any bar in Jamaica.

I don't expect "a large vegan menu" (and I am not vegan), but a single item, such as pasta (which they ended up serving me), would be nice. Just something they have as an automatic answer for the question "do you have anything for a vegetarian?" Their answer to the question was "ummm" instead of "sure, how about some pasta." They managed it okay with no notice, and I applaud them for that.
But it would be nice if they could have one item listed on the menu, or at least have it as a ready answer, without having to have the manager and the chef come to the table. They were all very sweet, but it would be nice if it didn't seem like the first time they had been asked the question.
As for why I went, it's because the other three members of my party were not vegetarian, and they wanted to go. I can't imagine that's the first time something like that has happened, so why were they thrown by the request?
So you are assuming alot of vegetarians visit Chops? Prob not a great choice. Sounds like the three other members of your group that dragged a vegetarian to a steakhouse might have been more considerate also. My wife is lactose intolerant and I find it easy to stop by Chops or anywhere before hand and let them know. They go out of their way to make be accommodating. I agree that signs in the WJ shouldnt have V if they have meat but fruit salad shouldnt have to have a V to let you know its ok to eat.

I called guest services earlier and asked this very question. I was told there was no charge on my bill for medical care. I asked if I would be charged later and she said no. I am hopeful that this is correct. My mom andi were talking and both agreed that if there was a nominal (say $100) fee for care that would be understandable but we would be pretty unhappy if we got a bill for several hundred dollars later.
It makes sense not to charge for that cause they need to catch it early and if people have to pay their outrageous rates they might not go and try and tough it out. I also heard they dont sell stuff like pepto in the gift shop onboard for the same reason. They want anyone with a stomach issue to see the doc.

LOL. Good catch. Apparently all the OP does is go around complaining about kids while cruising during peak:rolleyes: kid cruising time. sheesh
