I guess I had missed this announcement, but NCLH wasn't ready to provide more details back in November. NCL has already received permission from the Bahamian Government to build the Pier: https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/ports-destinations/ncl-still-vested-caribbean-eyes-further-bahamas-development. Timeline to start construction seems to still be on track to begin this summer.

I’m surprised we haven’t seen an itinerary with a stop at both Harvest Cay and Great Stirrup Cay. Royal Caribbean could create a similar itinerary with stops at Coco Cay, Nassau/Royal Beach Club and Cozumel/Royal Beach Club once these destinations are complete.

I believe I read they have a trolly-like system they’ve already setup. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been there so can’t confirm on my end. Anyone been there recently? It looks like the pier is right by the tender docks current location.

Hahah I know. But, Royal Caribbean does it with two Oasis class ships on an island half the size. Will depend on passenger flow, areas, activities, etc.

I agree - but remember- they only mentioned the pier in the press announcement. These renderings are probably now through the next couple years once pier is complete. Nothing about the pools, shopping, etc has been formally announced by NCL yet.

Please note - NCL has only announced the Pier itself, but looks like many more exciting enhancements are in the pipeline. I myself was wondering what they were going to do with the harbor they created for all the tenders. Client: Norwegian Cruise Lines Location: Berry Islands, Bahamas Size of Project: 280-acre Construction Cost: Completion date: Unique Features: 4 pools – 35,000-sf of water surface, 20,000-sf commissary kitchen, 5-acre solar farm Great Stirrup Cay is Norwegian Cruise Line’s 280-acre private island in the Bahamas. BA assembled a team to assess the guest experience, operations, and infrastructure of the island to provide a holistic plan of moving forward. For the guest experience, BA explored an array of new activities, amenities, and F&B venues for guests. The new design included a Bahamian village with shops and restaurants, 4 pools amounting to over 35,000 SF of water surface with slides, a rockwork grotto cave bar/swim up bar, a dune buggy park, island-wide bike trails, coastal cabanas, 20,000SF commissary kitchen, and 5-acre solar farm. The goal was to add amenities and activities that showcase the natural beauty of the existing upland and surrounding waters and allow guests to discover Bahamian island from end to end. For operations the plan adds two piers capable of berthing Breakaway Plus class ships, upgrading all existing infrastructure to accommodate the increase in capacity, adding a 20,000 SF commissary kitchen and F&B operation, administration offices, roadways, as well as sustainability initiatives to include a 5-acre solar farm. Overall, I don't prefer the naming conventions for the new class of ships. I will say they are creative, but the combo of "Norwegian" + "Italian" naming for a US-based line is a bit off. I do like Luna - I remember there were thoughts years ago when they were naming Sky, Sun, Star, Dawn - that Norwegian Moon was on the table. But as I said, the names are more creative and differentiating. Past names it looks like they never moved forward with as well: Norwegian Marvel, Norwegian Seahawk If that's the case, then we may have solved it 🙂 1: Prima 2: Viva 3: Aqua 4: Bella 5: Luna 6: Ultima

I did a little sleuthing and I noticed NCL refilled trademarks under a different IP subsidiary. Yea - Wasn't a fan of the baiting "somethings wrong" to get you to keep watching the video (they also get paid via ads) you have to watch thru it. Reviews (everyones) are subjective. Not everyone needs to think/feel/like the same - They did a great job on video quality and editing. I put it on mute and admired the tour to make my own opinion. Happy cruising and wish NCL much success on this new class!

Glad they are finally able to move forward! I've been wondering about the name as well. Here are some ideas (some same as yours!). They also have two additional Triton-Class ships to name: Disney Adventure Disney Imagination Disney Enchantment Disney Princess Disney Marvel Disney Joy Disney Elation

Correct. Trademarks filed were Prima, Viva, as well as Bella, Vela, Luna, Aura, Aqua, Ombra, Ultima. my guess is next is Bella (styled B3LLA in the marketing). And #6 is ultima as the ultimate (similar to Encore /end wrapping up the Breakaway-Class). That leaves two left, with my preference of Luna and Aura. Mind you - other names NCL had filed but never used many years ago were also Seahawk and Marvel.
