  1. Hi all, first live thread for me , and first time on an edge class ship. We’ll be on celebrity apex, in a prime ocean view room, and leaving Port Everglades on Saturday March 30. We’re leaving what I guess would be this morning, the 29th, (I’m up late packing last minute again),driving down from Atlanta and staying in Orlando for the night. We can’t wait to try this new class of ship and if y'all have any questions about the ship or things onboard don’t hesitate to ask. We’ll definitely be sharing lots of pictures!! It’s always a great day to be cruising!
  2. Hi, we’ll be docking at the international pier on celebrity apex in a couple weeks and are probably not buying an excursion for this day. (First time to Cozumel not buying an excursion) I know the downtown pier is easier to just wander outside of the port and find something to do, but the international pier is far out there. If you have any suggestions on what to do for a day, that’s relatively cheap. I’m open to taking a taxi and where, and really have no preference on beach or not. Thanks in advance.
  3. Flight on Symphony hands down. Loved the show and the history. (I am biased through because I'm a pilot 😉) I know this is unpopular, but I didn't like Mamma Mia or Cats all that much. Hairspray was good through and the shows on the other ships have always been solid, but other than UP in the Air nothing has stood out.
  4. Have been on both many times. For 2k go Harmony, it's never worth an extra two thousand dollars in the same class, and the kids won't notice the difference.
  5. In that case harmony will make a great choice for a ship. I've sailed on her many times so just ask if you have any questions.
  6. Solarium Bridge Wings (Not so Hidden), and Breakfast at JR are the only things I can think of.
  7. Harmony for sure, but if your flying already to Galveston, maybe try wonder of symphony out of the Florida ports. As a ship I love harmony, but compared to her sisters I really am not the fond of her. Ofc if your budget allows I'm sure you would be the "cool parent" if you took them on Icon.
  8. I know the infinite verrandah isn’t a balcony balcony, but I always thought there wasn’t much of a difference with the window, but people seem to be really opinionated about it.
  9. Thinking of booking a cruise on celebrity beyond or apex, but throwing edge in there because it's the same class and being the oldest there is probably the most info on it. My family of three is booking either and ocean view or balcony on Apex or Beyond, and because were 3 people we're gonna need a room with 3 beds. The website is showing either single or double sofa beds with no trundles. Could you guys share pictures and info on how comfortable the sofa beds are, and if it's worth it not to book 2 cabins.
  10. The testing should go away now and unvaxxed should be allowed on later. They’d have no problems with the cdc, island gov, and passengers
  11. I agree. Thank you let the vaccinated people who have gotten you cruise lines back on your feet since restart. Cmon get rid of that stupid testing requirement.
  12. I know this might sound selfish, but I’ve heard from many people some are friends and most I’ve met on cruises they are all royal diamond plus or pinnacle club. Now keep in mind that all of these people are vaccinated and I know for a fact that if Royal made vaccinated people pay for a test to make way for the unvaccinated that wouldn’t go over well at all with their more frequent loyal customers. The general consensus that I’ve found is that the vaccine requirement is fairly popular and most think it should stay, but testing is not popular at all.
  13. The vaccination rule is at the request of the cdc. And I think that although mabye not better the vaccine has proven that it keeps you from having a severe case and dying from Covid, and that’s what the cruise lines want especially in the media. I sounds a lot better now where people coming off a cruise have mild symptoms as that’s pretty normal now. The headline they don’t want is man goes on cruise and dies of Covid. That’s bad press.
  14. RCCL ceo posted on fb that the cruise line will start to allow more unvaccinated people to cruise starting aug 8, but they will still have to test on all cruises no matter the length bc they are un vaccinated. I think that you have to apply for a vaccine exemption prior to your cruise but idk about that for certain.
  15. That's cool I guess the show made them like cruising 🙂
  16. Thanks for this. I'm guessing this series will be a something like below deck in fact I think that somebody on the cast was from below deck med. At least the filming isn't intrusive and they aren't taking away from the guest experience.
  17. That's good I'm just glad it isn't a large scale production. I'm sure everybody who was on the ship will be watching every episode just to see if they got in the shot somehow.
  18. Great that's exactly what the world needs another reality dating show.
  19. So it's basically just following people around and doing confessionals about who got with who. I thought it was a scripted version.
  20. @Ken the cruiserHow did the TV show impact you. If it did at all. I'm just wondering if it was like an inconvenience or a distraction with the cameras around everywhere.
  21. Oh well that's good then. I guess they might get their 2 seconds of fame. At least it isn't disruptive to passengers. And for me at least they are filming in the med and not the caribbean.
  22. Is it this forum by any chance?
  23. So they have to pay for a cruise, and while on that cruise have to deal with people trying to film a tv show. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
  24. Are they filming while guests are onboard. Like actual paying guests. Because sometimes with tv I can't tell if they're just regular bystanders or extras that the production recruited.
  25. I just came across a story saying that the love boat was going to be re done in 2022 fall. Like the 1970s show the show will be filmed on a princess ship (maybe majestic princess) in the med. Now just as a disclaimer I never watched the original love boat. But anyone who has or knows about the matter. Will they film during guest cruises or will they charter the ship for a month or two. I know I won't want to cruise while there are cameras around 24/7.
