Please bear with me. I'll spare you the long story why I need to cast my laptop to the TV during my upcoming cruise, I'll be glad to share why in another reply later in this thread once I figure this all out.

I've been trying to do my homework on this and it seems like most of the *newer* Princess ships have all switched to very tight wall-mounted TVs. Makes it nearly impossible to reach back to plug the HDMI cable in. If you are lucky enough to get it in then the new Medallion TV software blocks out HDMI or virtually accessing any kind of input. A kind gentleman in another thread showcased how to bypass this via the bridge cam channel but it appears to only work for ships with the newer LG TVs with the thin silver trim. It might be that Ruby still has the black trim LG TVs. Does anyone know what kind of TVs the Ruby Princess (interior staterooms) currently has? Are they mounted tightly on the wall? And what kind of universal remote would you recommend I pack along to get this done or do I not need one at all? Thank you!

EDIT: Watching a YouTube video from 2020 it seems like interior staterooms still have TVs up in the corner of the media center which makes sense as I do not see where else a TV can be mounted in an interior stateroom. So I guess that rules out any problems plugging in an HDMI. I suppose now the problem is bypassing the Medallion software. Universal remote brand and models that worked for you are highly appreciated! Let me know!

there is a video that my boyfriend used to connect his laptop to the hdmi port. The hardest part was connecting the cable. There is a small space between the wall and the TV.  Bring you own cable and connector
