  1. What I like about it is my bank credits the amount to my card in about 2 business days then they telll me to follow up in a couple weeks. Sometimes it gets resolved immediately sometines I wait out the 60 days but in the meantime I have access to the funds. Funny story about chargeback: last November 2021 I sent an xmas parcel airmail to my grandkids in Europe. Supposed to receive 10 business days. Christmas came and went no parcel received after numerous calls to Canada post they said lost in mail so I did a chargeback for the amount paid to mail parcel. February 6th the kids got their Xmas parcel and I basically got free shipping which was expensive. I highly doubt Canada Post even responded to the query. 😆
  2. I ordered a Cosmo at the casino bar during my Elite HH. Tasted terrible watered down made with a poor quality vodka. Bartender said thats all they had. I left it went to martini bar and was made with absolut vodka some Cointreau and cranberry with a twist of orange.
  3. My Canadian bank is 90 days to dispute a transaction and merchant has 60 days to respond otherwise the credit stays. In one case unrelated to cruising I disputed a charge and amount credited to my account 2 days later. A few weeks after merchant also credited me so I alerted my bank and they clawed back the money. It was a simple process.
  4. Yes you did. I guess it has to be a legitimate chargeback. I know in the cases of refunds for cruises and related flights mine were definitely legit. The advantage is one has immediate access to their money and the bank handles all correspondence with the merchant's bank.
  5. A credit card chargeback is easier and much quicker. Keep in mind you have to initiate the chargeback within 90 days of it being posted to your account and merchant has 60 days to respond.
  6. You sound a lot like me. I've done several CC chargebacks mostly pertaining to cruises and flights during covid and got my money back that way. Why waste time on the phone when the bank can do all the work for you.
  7. Blacklisted! Why, its the guests money they're holding back. If it were me they can blacklist me all they want there's other cruise lines out there. In fact I've booked a western Caribbean with Princess for January as Celebrity's price too high and I've sailed exclusively with Celebrity since 2013.
  8. Your best bet is to initiate a credit card chargeback if your paid by CC. You will have access to your funds immediately and the bank can then deal with it. Several months is too long.
  9. Its a terrible sale all they've done is inflated the price by the amount of OBC. At least it is on mine.
  10. Was upgraded on 11 night Hawaii from inside to non obstructed veranda. Nice surprise
  11. My sister and I are also on that cruise will be our first TA. We've been on the Edge and loved it.
  12. Doesn't hurt to try but you're best to get it resolved now. GR is crazy busy on the first day and this may be time consuming. Do what you think is best and Good Luck.
  13. It doesn't matter how he feels or doesn't feel. If you bid for porthole and got an IV which you don't want for reasons stated they need to make it right and put you in a porthole or credit your $420. Don't waste your time going to GR when you board. They won't be able to help you.
  14. Did you question the overcharge? If they give you trouble you can do a credit card chargeback with your bank as a double billing. I've always had success in this area mind you it was a different issue. Yes the IV is a definite upgrade even at $420. Check the terms and conditions Celebrity is good at covering themselves. Let us know the outcome.
  15. If you went through a TA they have to call on your behalf. As far as the porthole yes the IV is an upgrade but remember the porthole balcony view is a cut out from the hub and not great but as you say not worth the $420. Possibly they will let you keep at no cost. I'm also Canadian and always factor in conversion rate before I make a decision.
  16. They owe you the $87.50 back to your credit card. As far as incorrect cabin assignment if there are no cabins left in the category you won they need to assign you a higher category. They are probably hoping you take the over payment as OBC. Do not budge on this.
  17. Website crashed! Must be due to everyone booking those fabulous black Friday deals. 😆 🤣
  18. I didn't take the package on that cruise. I did on the May Eclipse to Hawaii with upgrade to Premium. BTW the Aperol I make at home is far better than those onboard.
  19. Its the same price as it was last night except they made it refundable and increased the price accordingly. My sister and I are in the same 15 night TA as you are and booked an IV and now we decided we want our own individual cabins due to many factors. Looking at insides but price increased $553 since yesterday. It doesn't take a genius to do the math.
  20. Yeah I figured it out as I'm sure everyone on this board has.
  21. I was on the Edge this past January and bartender was giving me Aperol spritzers during the HH which I don't believe are included in Elite drinks. Do they keep track of ounces poured and where they are allocated?
  22. You will have to go through your TA. Celebrity should honour the OBC.
