  1. Was on board was beautiful morning and had majestic princess in the Harbour ahead of us.
  2. Hi all Home now from what was meant to be 4 btb but ended after 3 for wife " positive" covid test that we were not allowed to see the results of? Nor was she allowed to re-test? Anyway over all we had a great time however there was a long list of issues, So hope they get their S*#t together... we are on Quantum again in Feb, the staff are in a hard spot at times can see they generally want to help but have hands tied by Royal and its sad that as customers who are willing to sail and spend get treated so poorly they are (Royal caribbean) experts in side stepping issues giving no anwers even when onboard, has left a bad taste not first time have had issues with Royal love sailing with them to point wife an I got tattoos of the logo and are now left ending what could have been an amazing adventure feeling resentful and very untrusting in the company. Just to name a few of the issues....they still have a $2940 pending charge on credit card even tho all bills are and were fully paid before getting off the ship.... We didn't receive and of the pre purchased gifts.....missed all our excursions due to ship getting into Port late and tendering being so outta whack.... Never received the double points even tho we booked ontime and confirmed with royal before sailing....many times List of issues continues but can't be stuffed typing them all out One thing I will say is I am sooooo over royal caribbean policy of solving ANY issues with "OBC" But all in all we had a great time and can't wait to sail the seas again
  3. 26 days out still no word from Royal pretty poor of them really, never mind the drinks packages being 4 times they where.... it's the journey but would be nice to have some communication from them or is this a repeat performance of Feb 2022 and won't tell us anything until we due to sail out of Numea?
  4. Fingers crossed is sorted in time we on same sailing November 1st Quantum from Brisbane.
  5. Hi all We received 2 changes the overnight in Sydney instead of Eden on November 9th sailing and also late departure moved to 8pm on the November 1st sailing. Personally rather spend an evening in Sydney than Eden went there instead of Vanuatu on our last cruise and wasn't much to see or do. Peace
  6. P&O seems to charge for the edge activities which we are struggling with as on RCL these type things are included we however have 10 people booked to sail to Fiji in 2023 simply the fact we can sail from Auckland no flights to deal with all the little humans will see how it all goes? Personally have feeling will be going back to royal lol PO EDGEPacific Explorer PosterA51 NO PRINT MARKS (1).pdf
  7. No was double charged... did try to chase it up kept being told it will reverse but takes 45+ business days. Was in the midst of lock downs etc... Got nowhere so have requested past cruise folio's and card statements to try chase it up again things take soo long and get told same thing over and over... end up forgetting and have to chase it up all over again. So we are very weary now about using our credit card linked to sea pass again not wanting to risk this happen again... had no issues on previous cruise. but on 4 b2b this year and topping up with cash will be frustrating and then the risk of carrying cash as well.
  8. hi all has anyone encountered this and have any ideas on what i should do? the situation is at the end of cruise we paid our bill in full on board have receipt etc.. never thought more about it then a few weeks later our credit card was charged the full amount of our onboard bill again....we called the cruise line as one would. told not to be worried it will reverse... fast forward now approximately 2 years later and you guessed it but no reversed charge we are waiting on our past cruise folio's etc. any ideas ?anyone else had this happen?
  9. we all know they are out to make money cruising s a multi national multi billion dollar industry, we are all trying to come back from the pandemic lock downs etc.. but it seems to me to be a poor business decision pricing the drink packages so high the so called "30%" off and price is still more than double what a consumer paid prior.. as per my other comment new trend seems to me at least that most will now opt to either pay as we go or just opt out of the packages all together favoring the free however crappy coffee and cordial for some it maybe the deciding factor as to take a cruise or not or change lines. it takes away a big part of the cruise experience we are on b2b cruises the first of which is 9 nights my beverage package at "30%" off will be NZ$395.73 the wife soda package NZ$157.14 we simply cant justify that and we are sailing for 28 nights total I'm all for splurging a bit we are on holiday after all but its become silly now our solution for the first sailing at least will be take on a dozen soda cans and a couple of boxes of sachet cappuccinos hoping to get off between sailings and restock.
  10. on our first cruise entered our cabin (spacious ocean view on explorer of the seas 2019)and had post card view couldn't have planed it better anyone else have cool pics like this?
  11. we are booked on 4 b2b in November non drinkers i would normally get refreshment package and the wife drinks nothing but coke so the soda package but now RCL seem to have over priced themselves and am seeing a trend of most now opting for going without or coffee cards only shame really there is something special feeling having yr chosen package and not having to think about cost of each drink especially on longer cruises.
  12. thanks, yes it was due to staff contracting covid we got lucky the following cruise got stranded outside Sydney for weeks if I remember correctly so just trying to be extra vigilant always take cruise cover as a rule. Going On A Cruise? × This Cruise Pack is available with all policies except ‘Essentials’ and ‘Medical Only’. The Cruise Pack gives you the following benefits in addition to the standard cover: Pre Paid Shore Excursions Cancellation - $1,000 Missed Cruise Departure - $2,500 Cabin Confinement/Loss of Enjoyment - $1,500 Missed Port Cover - $750🙂 Formal Attire Cover - $1,500 Formal Attire Delay Allowance - $250 If you go on a cruise and do not purchase the Cruise Pack, you will have limited cover under your policy. Please see the Policy Wording for full terms and conditions. 23. Missed Port Cover You only have this cover if you have purchased the cruise pack which is an option available for all plans other than Essentials and Medical Only. We Will Pay We will pay a $250.00 for each scheduled port your cruise vessel never docks at during your journey, which is due to weather conditions or natural disaster. We Will Not Pay We will not pay if: a) You cannot get a written statement from the cruise company or relevant authority confirming the reason for the missed port; or b) You can make a claim on this benefit on anyone else.
  13. hi thanks im sure it has but finding it difficult to find went to see cruise travel agent yesterday and was told "no not possible" that lady must have been having a bad day or just has no idea she was rather rude about it oh well people are people. anyways from what have found so far because the cruise lines state that they can change itinerary then travel insurance here in NZ at least wont cover this i will keep looking. Anther point i found interesting that came up we had insurance for Australia and south pacific but as we then sailed to NZ due to the changes we had no control over but this voided our insurance. Something to look out for? where you are actually covered and not.
  14. hi all so on our last cruise 11 Night South Pacific Cruise Voyager of the Seas Feb 25 — Mar 7, 2020 was a disaster we were told after departing Noumea sorry we are now sailing to Tauranga ,Paihia and Eden not villa and mystery island etc. we where offered nothing they did give us our excursions as OBC that was it. Needless to say there was a lot of upset passengers it was our honeymoon and we are from NZ living an hour from Tauranga.....my question therefore is there any cruise insurance that would give us some type of compensation should this happen again??? we are attempting the same itinerary as part of our upcoming b2b cruses aware that currently Vanuatu is still closed yet hoping by the time we sail hey have opened (glass half full😁) its about the journey but we would love to finally see Vanuatu. peace
  15. So far we have had nothing but issues using a travel agent and found it much simpler and convenient to book directly on the Royal Caribbean website have full control over what when and how to make payments, purchase excursions drinks packages etc etc etc but have heard that onboard discounts are good depending on your tier discounts and the "Next Cruise" up to $600 off or use it as onboard credit.😁
  16. hi we really looking forward to it managed to book a 4th sailing last night so doing 4 B2B now super excited,(got in just before cut off for the double points we chasing that Dimond tier lol) dose anyone have any advice on if its better booking on board via Next Cruise? we planning on booking a family cruise for feb 2023, myself the wife and 3 kids. Also this is our first time departing Brisbane logistically is it safer to book hotel or close enough to make an 11am international flight home we normally cruise out of Sydney and fly in a day prior to and a day after our sailing. 😁
  17. True, getting that piece of paper feels more personal and uplifting... the power of trees lol
  18. Good idea, funny I spoke to a dude on our last cruise and had this exact conversation... lol
  19. I was aware but the wife would drink the 12 cokes in a day so the soda pkg works better for her and i am a non drinker so the refreshment pkg works great for me
  20. oh dear, sounds like an interesting story... thailand land cruise by any chance?!?! lmfao
  21. Ok then lol... We will be on the hunt for that magic wonderful human...lol Thanks, we planned our 3 back to back sailings by length and points hehehe
  22. Awesome thank you so much... we will most def be looking for that guy... ☮️
  23. I think we maybe on the same cruise, and have noticed the drinks pkg prices are higher then normal... It is still early tho and you may find the price comes down around the 90 day mark????. Our past experience has been not paid more then $24 per day for the refreshment and around $7-8 per day for the soda pkg... Cant speak on the alcohol as we are non drinkers now hehehe, locking in the price you have now is good idea cause if it does lower in price you can always cancel and rebuy it at lower price (just remember monies coming back to you may take a loooong time, i think around 45 daysish)
  24. Hey all, Can someone please help me. If I am doing 3 back to back cruises with Royal Caribbean, and on the first cruise I go from Gold to Platinum, then on the 2nd cruise I will be going Platinum to Emerald... One of the rewards on platinum is the Welcome Waters & Snack + Beverage Selection, but it must be ordered 7 days in advance. How does that work? Thank you in advance.
