Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Pool hours are listed in Currents, and I assume this is the time that the staff starts to take drink orders at the pool, and tend to towels, etc. If the pool hours start at 0900, the arriving staff should remove anything that is on the loungers with no people on them, especially if there is no one in the pool.
  2. RE TV noise: Oceania TVs should have closed captioning turned on at all times. If this seems like will cause problems, perhaps a small sticker on the TV, suggesting people be considerate, and use CC, with instruction for how to turn it on. Due to my HVAC system,I have CC on all the time, rather than turn volume up and down. I love it!
  3. I was booked NYC-Bermuda-NYC last Sept 13-20. A couple of days before embarking, got an email saying we would be going to Nassau, because of a Hurricane Hal. Nassau is definitely *not* Bermuda, and we would be there one night. So we had more sea days, but that was fine with me. I rebooked for this year, Sept 1-8. I know it could happen again, but it's still a vacation! I've been to Bermuda twice on land vacations in Sept, and weather was great. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  4. I sail on Insignia to Bermuda on Sept 1st. First port is Newport, and I have had an O excursion booked there since last Sept. Very odd that the same excursions aren't available to you. Good luck!
  5. and on our Baltic cruise, the jewelry store had the most beautiful, expensive sets of nesting dolls.
  6. In 2007, my first cruise ever was an Oceania 14 day, Venice to Barcelona, that went to all those ports. Did it again in 2017, but not sure Dubrovnik was on it that time.
  7. I bring lunch to my lounger! And return dishes to Waves.
  8. Let's charter cruise for all the civil, polite, non hogs on this thread. Would be delightful!
  9. Hi Patty1955! Are you on Sept1-8? I am, and there were Newport excursions available in Nov. I was able to book one. Are you on the roll call? I have a tour booked for Sept 5th,to "Out of the way places", as I have been to Bermuda many Times before, and seen the usual spots. Let me know if You are interested! Patty, I just checked and see several excursions still listed for the ports under Manage My Booking. Good luck!
  10. We had an aft facing cabin when we did the Canal, and it was great...so maybe along Terrace's outdoor railing?
  11. If the pool opens at 0700, the staff should remove anything that is on a chaise before 0700 . After that, I believe staff should be removing things routinely, especially if no one is in the water. If they have gone for a meal, too bad....last cruise, we went one at a time, and brought our Waves or Terrace meal back to our pool chaise. Not the most comfortable way to eat, but if you're serious about wanting a place to relax, c'est la vie! I DO think it's the cruise line's job to monitor this.
  12. I know SM states lunch and dinner...so I'm pretty sure that means no mimosa at breakfast?
  13. not asking anything...my first post stated that my TA told me I would have to pay the $150 to switch my booked on board cruise to the cruise that is one week earlier, with the same itinerary. People replied that I would not have to pay it, and then I posted that I had read the confirmation, and COULD change the cruise one time without the 150 charge, (so my TA was mistaken). However,I would LOSE the OBC I received for booking on boards I was going to stay with the one I originally booked. I am sorry if it was confusing to some posters.
  14. thanks everyone, but MY cruise, that I booked on board, is NOT on sale. It is the cruise the week before mine that's on sale.
  15. But MY cruise is not on sale, the one the previous week is.
