  1. New topic after all this time. As I have said, way back , I am traveling solo this May to Alaska. My question is about making the dinner reservations (my time to do the online thing is coming up pretty soon) for Manfredi's and the Chef's Table. Are there shared table's there? Or am I doomed to eat alone those nights? I know I can ask for a shared table at The Restaurant, once on board.
  2. I am cruising on the Viking Orion in May solo. How do they handle dining solo? Will I always have to eat by myself, or will I be able to share a table with others?
  3. I have a question. How soon before you are able to book your excursions, can you see what the excursion selections will be? I am still months out from my cruise next year, but nevertheless, I want to be prepared!
  4. @TTEllis You mentioned that the Caribbean Princess is good for solo cruising. What makes it so? I am taking a solo trip in October, so I would love to know!
  5. I didn't hunt out any other solo cruisers, but I met a few in my last solo cruise. One was in her 80's and another was around my age (in her mid 50's) and a professional such as myself.
  6. I am doing a solo trip with Viking next year (Alaska & Inside Passage), and am looking forward to it! It will be my fifth solo cruise, but my first with Viking. I say go ahead and do it! We only live once, and there's a great big world out there to explore!
  7. I can't wait to hear about your trip @travelingman I am going to the Galapgos in October with Lindblad.
  8. I will be in Ketchikan one day/night prior to an upcoming cruise. How safe is it to just meander around on my own downtown? Go out to dinner? This will be the first time I've had to come in the day prior to a cruise, and will have had the time to get to know a port city! I am in my 50's by the way.
  9. Pallinson, I am going on the Great Bear Rainforest trip this September, I think the protocols have now changed, but I could be mistaken. The Expedition Guide is now up on Lindblad's site, so be sure to check there for the latest information. Hope to see you there! Laura
  10. I am doing my first solo cruise on a big ship with the Royal Princess in April! I am in my mid-fifties, and while I am a bit nervous, I am more excited to see what fun, and how much relaxation, I can get into in 7 days! Laura
  11. I've been on one Lindblad Cruise to Alaska last year, with another one coming up in September. I am not that fit at all, and really enjoyed it! Haven't tried kayaking yet, which I am going to try this time. I enjoyed the food on the Sea Lion. All food was served, which I think has changed since Covid.
  12. Just read you blog posts, and I am excited for more! Laura
  13. I just booked my first solo cruise on a big ship, the Royal Princess for April 23, 2023. I am very excited, but also nervous. This is a Pacific Northwest cruise. I have only done a small cruise alone, Lindblad last year to Alaska on a ship with maybe 50 other people. I am doing another Lindblad trip this September with 100 passengers, again to Alaska. Would love to hear your advice, tips, etc!
  14. I will, I had no idea there was a Lindblad section!
