Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Assuming you aren't visiting Bermuda or Canada, the Carnival webstie says: Except where differences are specified, all unvaccinated guests age 2 and older must provide the negative result of a lab-administered or supervised self-administered PCR or antigen COVID test taken up to 3 days before embarkation.* (For example, if the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken any time from Wednesday.)
  2. I wonder why lines don't have the option for both vaccinated and non-vaccine cruises. It would make both sides happy. Keep the designation as per ship say Magic and Conquest are no vaccination requirement and Sunshine and Sunrise are vaccination required. Then people who don't want to be vaccinated have an option, those who only want to cruise with vaccinated others have an option and those who are vaccinated but don't care either way can book on either. Not sure how hard this would be for the lines to keep track of, just an idea.
  3. Sorry, should have specified! I meant the rapid done at a pharmacy. We prefer the rapid because we fly a day ahead and don't want to get the result when we have already flown wherever we are going. Last summer we could schedule them at a few different locations, up to 14 days in advance. Now there's only one that's not super convenient and it's only scheduling a day in advance. What company are using to proctor tests with ones you already have? I saw a few different companies but hadn't heard first hand success stories so I was skeptical. But would definitely use one that would be reliable. I agree with you that seems much easier.
  4. Oh yeah, we wouldn't still be talking about it if either were foolproof. Plus I'm already vaccinated so definitely prefer the option I don't have to do anything haha
  5. I was replying to the poster who said she thinks testing does more to prevent spreading than the vaccine. Not here to fight, just offered my preference if it's one or the other.
  6. I'd rather be vaccinated than have to test. It's becoming so much harder to find a test. Plus the test doesn't do a ton to prevent spreading since people are testing 3 days in advance then a lot of them are getting on a plane. Only way a test is 100 percent effective to stop spreading is if you did it and then quarantined but that's obviously not a plausible thing. As soon as you go out in public you could catch it/spread it, etc.
  7. If you are platinum or above you can get into your room right away (or at least drop stuff off since covid started) so you don't have to worry about it getting lost or having to wait for it.
