  1. You are correct about our cabin being on deck 4, so we do appreciate the large windows. We like having a balcony for AK so we can enjoy Glacier Bay and other places w/o the crowds, but thought for the savings, we'd give an OV a try. Bonus for us was snagging one that is not actually looking into a lifeboat. I know from having an inside for HI that I can spend enough time in common spaces that I don't actually need a balcony, but DH hasn't tested it yet. He really really enjoys his morning cuppa by himself on the balcony. Our first time to AK was in an aft wrap, so we got spoiled quickly.🫣
  2. Yes I looked, no I didn'ttake it. It wasn't the crazy offer like the previous one, but didn’t net us a better cabin so we turned it down. We're in an OV (1st time going to AK w/out a balcony) - one classified as partially obstructed but in reality is not blocked at all.
  3. We are a month out from our end of season AK sailing on the Eurodam. Rec'd an email today for an upgrade @ $99pp. Called w/deck plan in hand. Told ship is full and only 3 cabins available; all OV w/one fully obstructed. A couple weeks ago they offered us a paid upgrade to an unobstructed verandah for $1785pp. Lots of people wanting to say adios to AK for the year; I hope they don't run out of pea soup 😕
  4. Boston Lettuce French Onion Soup Stroopwaffle Cheesecake Cappuccino
  5. I agree about the noise, which also comes from the showers (including screams from the aforementioned ice dumps), but the views are stunning. Nothing beats a heated lounger while watching 🐋 🐳 (Dec & Jan in HI on K'dam).
  6. Mine would not be working at all after that ice dump 🙄
  7. We did the stingray snorkel excursion at HMC a couple years ago and LOVED it. You're right - they're incredibly docile creatures w/unique personalities and the handlers were terrific.
  8. Please have DS send some of that rain our way (SW of him) 🫣
  9. I didn't realize our dishwasher was designed to actually clean dirty dishes for a couple years and I was frustrated that it didn't clean as well as I thought it should. Then I read something about cleaning agents being re-engineeted for new dishwashers to allow for dishes to run through with dried food. So we tested it and it does a much better job cleaning when you start the dishwasher with dry dishes. So now we don't start it as soon as we rinse the dishes, we let them sit a while. Very different process, but I'llgladly do whatever it wants.
  10. Other than 2 conf calls and opening a HDT for one of my teams, I will be taking the day off. So, this morning was take meds, check Daily, feed animals, set alarms for the conf calls and back to bed. I feel twinges in the left kidney - hope it just wants more water 💧 Checklist complete; headed to bed. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all including the people in the path of the typhoon.
  11. That's an awesome itinerary!! We'll miss you on the Daily, but know you've left us in capable hands and appreciate you bringing us along. We are cruising AK next month, so I will be excitedly following along.
  12. Thank you @0106 for the stunning pictures. I would also stay in that garden all day.
  13. CONGRATS!! That is a very nice upgrade Safe travels- enjoy your cruise!
  14. Yes. And if you don't have one in you cabin, they're available at the gangway when you scan off.
  15. Have you had Tompouce? I've never had it, but it sounds good and I'm now hoping to see it next month on my cruise.
  16. Nice menu - Green Pea Soup (always a must when on a BHB), Pork Cordon Bleu, Tompouce and a Cappuccino. ☺️
  17. Thank you everyone for the well wishes. My brain is foggy; if I attempt to thank each person individually I'm sure I'll miss someone, so please forgive my lax posting and know I do appreciate each one. ❤️ I missed the early morning Ortho appt, which really blows as I was hoping to find out the plan for my knee (and possibly surgery) before next month's cruise. The day alternated between working and dozing. Trying to stay ahead of the pain - hence the brain fog and inability to work for extended periods of time. I think I will take tomorrow off.😴 I already have an appointment w/urologist in 2 weeks & don’t think I need another prior. He was notified last night that I was in the ER and will get the scan, so I assume🥴 he contacts me if he thinks I need to see him early. The port pictures have been fabulous again today; thanks to everyone for sharing them. Cat update 🐈 moving around a bit more, still not drinking, eating fairly well, currently occupying his usual spot in my lap. Finished all his meds & goes to Vet on Sat for urinalysis. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.
  18. And that person is probably planning to work extra hard for you 🫣
  19. Very good question especially given canceled pax will not be at the ports to benefit from those fees and did not receive the cruise to benefit from those taxes & fees...
  20. At the bottom when I booked I was a line stating AARP OBC had been applied, but it didn't show the $$ amount. You can get a booking confirmation that shows total $$ amount of OBC, but to have it broken down by type, you'd need to call. They'll tell you the breakdown but not put it in print. If you have a TA, they can get it for you.
  21. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Scan shows 1 stone passing, so they're sending me home w/meds and a strainer. Scan shows 3 more after this one - oh boy!
