I'm on the Getaway next July and we overnight in Istanbul. After the first day do we have to go back onboard or can we stay at a land hotel? We leave at 4pm the next day so there is plenty of time to get back to the ship.
I'm considering a room in town to avoid the whole disembarkation process, esp. for those with excursions that day.

It looks like we'll be on a pretty full ship. Good luck with your bid upgrade! I've pretty much written ours off since I'm not willing to pay the top end for the Haven options.
I wouldn't pay for Haven in any case. I think it's a ridiculous amount for a cruise. But that's just me.

My cruise showed fully sold out for about a month and somehow I got an upgrade 3 days before. I literally thought about canceling them today then 2 hours later I was upgraded!
I live in hope for another 24 days 😂

The people in the cabin you are bidding on may have put a bid on another category of cabin. If they can upgrade that opens up their cabin for someone else.
That makes sense.

Okay thanks

If the category we are bidding on is showing sold out for the cruise should I just cancel my upgrade bid?

Based on my experience i think that Reo is wrong; I probably would have confirmed with another person. But then again, how things get handled may have changed or just may vary by ship (that was on Prima last September), we bid $50 over cost of pass. And TBH I think I spoke with someone about how that would be handled before locking in the pass (not 100% sure)
Everyone has to work within their comfort level. i would take the chance again as it worked out for us in the past …. But i could be disappointed
The rep did have me on hold while she spoke to someone else. We're okay with the passes as we already have a balcony room on Deck 12. We'll rethink bidding next cruise.

When we went that route, NCL cancelled our spa pass automatically
I called my NCL rep and she said they wouldn't be cancelled which made no sense so we cancelled our bids and just paid for the passes. I doubt we'll be upgraded as our bids were just into the Fair category and roughly $100 less than the passes. We didn't want to take the chance as we really want to use the thermal spa.

If the cruise long thermal suite passes are still available you can just purchase it outright. I would recommend doing this now, as availability may diminish closer to your cruise. If you get your upgrade you can cancel the thermal suite passes you purchased.
Okay thank you. I didn't know we could cancel the passes if we were upgraded.

Sometimes a paid upgrade is cheaper than a winning bid. You should call NCL or your TA to see what your options are. I wouldn't wait until the last few days before boarding.
It's $339 for the thermal spa pass and it looks like the spa balcony is double what we paid right now, so well over $1K a person. Which is ridiculous. I can call my NCL rep but will probably wait. We had decided to just get a massage on the ship if we didn't get upgraded however there's a nice spa in Puerto Vallarta we found that we can get a massage & facial for less than a massage at the ship spa.

I have bids on two different spa balconies. (Currently in a balcony room) If we don't get upgraded can we just buy the spa package before boarding?

This just reminds me to put Pepto on my packing list (just in case!)

Please PLEASE use a new cup every single time you fill up your cup. I end up with like 3 to 4 used cups every time I fill up my water bottle. But this is how we stop the spread of many diseases that cause diarrhea.
I had an Italian guy cuss me out in Italian for a solid minute because I pointed out the sign to him on my Med cruise. I don't speak Italian, so the joke's on him.
Laughing about not knowing Italian. I'm fine with tap water in my stateroom if that's good. I'll just pop a couple ice cubes in it and I'm good to go. Heck I drink L.A. Tap water so I'm not fussy!

Ah okay. I don't know why I thought the tap water wouldn't be good. 😂

You are not allowed to fill your bottle directly, but are perfectly welcome to fill a clean glass and transfer the liquid to your bottle.
Ahhh okay. I wonder if just taking ice and letting it melt overnight would work as well.

I'm going on the Bliss in November (Mexican Riviera) and was planning on bringing a refillable water bottle. However I just watched a YouTube video where they said you couldn't refill your bottles at the buffet or at the bars?
Does anyone know if this is true?

It would make sense for the cruise line to replace toilets with bidet toilets. They were everywhere in Japan and I came home and put a bidet attachment on my toilet. Best thing ever is a squeaky clean bum.

Yes. You can cancel and rebid any time before the bid is accepted.
Great thank you!

I have bids on two room for a November cruise. I got approved for the NCL credit card which will arrive in 10 days. Can I cancel these bids and rebid using the NCL card (thinking of getting the $1K spent to receive the $200 credit for my cruise or towards the next).
I guess what I'm asking is can you cancel a bid and rebid for the same type of rooms again?

Thank you. I did a quick Google search as well and that was the consensus. I am taking a NCL excursion on Day 1 so I will let them know I won't be returning to the ship at the end of it.
