Take the Blue bus. They sell tickets right at the dock. It takes you to Mendenhall visitors center and you decide when you want to return. Simple, inexpensive and you control your tour.

You can try googling for their website and read their advertisements for the cruise from their perspective. Let us know what you learn. m--
Apparently still taking bookings for all room categories. This cruise was sold out briefly a few weeks back but now shows availability.
Imagine it will be difficult to see group size anywhere.

Noticed that on our 6/30/18 Alaska Nieuw Amsterdam cruise there is a group listed, Christian Insight for Living : Inspiration cruises group. Is there a way to find out how large this group is to judge impact on the ship/activities?

Thanks everyone. Booked Chilkoot; bus up/train down for July 3.

Recommendations wanted for Float plane or Glacier Helicopter tours in Skagway or Ketchikan for early July 2018. Have already booked Tracy Arm via HAL and bus/rail in Skagway via Chilkoot.

Think you may have helped decide this one. Train up, Tour back. Thanks,

Cruisetours seem to waste too much time traveling from point to point. Thinking of flying into Anchorage for 1-2 nites then train to Whittier and spend 2nites prior to southbound Princess cruise to Vancouver.
Realize not doing the "Denali" thing but ...
Did RT last year on Celebrity from Vancouver but want to do Glacier Bay and Skagway. Will revisit Juneau and Ketchikan but will do different excursions.
So is a 4 nite visit to Anchorage/Whittier a viable DIY precruise trip ???

Pan Pacific. As already stated, right on top of cruise terminal. They will take your bags from room to ship checkin if you wish. Stunning location.

There are many shaded areas especially if you get there early and you can rent beach chairs. No umbrellas but really not critical

Don't overlook daylight. End of June gets you 18 hours of daylight.

After having experienced it, sailing out of Vancouver to/from via the Inside Passage can't be ignored. Also The Infinity has MickeyLive contracted for 2017 again to do the Alaska experience narration etc. Hubbard was amazing and Icy Strait provides great whale watching options.

Pan Pacific. Right in the cruise terminal. Can't beat the location but also not inexpensive.

Constellation lounge is where the ballroom dancing was held. Lounge in good condition.

What is the "reservation" window on bookings for Quantum class sailings?

Sometimes it is best to not critique until you have had time to digest all the facts and experiences. That being said, the 6/26 Infinity Alaska Glacier cruise was one of the best experiences in 17 cruises. The staff and crew were exceptional and not one truly negative comment can be made. Excursions great, MickeyLive was exceptional and really kept us engaged in the Alaskan adventure from day 1.
Will catch up with some pics and further comments in the coming days.

Update: Hubbard.
Unbelievable day. Said to be a once in five year visit to Hubbard. 1mile out with ice, 50 + weather, brilliant sun, calving all over.
Must also comment that stage shows may be best we have seen in 17 cruises. Well done.
Mdr tonite: absolutely great branzino.

Icy Point update: whale watching excursion real good. Organized and first trip off boat, directly off from deck 1. 7-8 whales for a good hour.
Silent disco nite: good fun. Headsets with 3station choices given out on deck 4, walk around with music in your ears only. Watch people grooving away.
-
Update: guess buffet issue is really due to design and comparison to larger ships/ newer.
Evening chic: Only one this cruise, first sea day. Dress from casual to tux but the upscale end very sparse.
Weather: 70's Vancouver, as we enter Icy Strait looks like 50's and no rain. Three season jacket fine.
Select dining: Make advance res for non port days. Makes much easier than dealing with lines (short but there) around 545-700. Food is fine in mdr.
MickeyLive: Do all his shows and discussions in Constellation lounge. After all you are here for Alaska insights.
TRAVEL INSURANCE QUESTION - ALASKA CRUISE
in Princess Cruises

Yes buy the Princess travel and add on GeoBlue. We are doing that as well. Cost effective way to be safe on medical and evacuation coverages.
