  1. It happened to me in Luminae on the Summit last year. I was solo and seated at a window table facing into the dining room. A couple at the table ahead of me, husband back to me, wife facing me, camera propped on tripod and action! I asked my waiter to ask the man to please move his camera so it was not facing me. To the camera guys credit, he did so without issue, he and his wife changed seats. If he had just been taking a photo or asked his waiter to take a photo, no problem, but for the camera to be facing me for my entire meal was more than I was willing to endure.
  2. And for them and many others, it is now their livelihood and sole means of income. As a result they have become relentless, they gave up their regular jobs during the pandemic and they are not going away. I don’t need Steven Spielberg type equipment in the dining room or fitness center.
  3. You are correct, and I don’t follow those or ever comment on a picture of “oh my god that looks so amazing” picture of a vanilla ice cream apple crumble. Now the person with their camera mounted on a tripod aimed at my table while they chew and describe…yea please stop.
  4. Correct, and same can be said for the pictures they use in the cruise planner for specialty dining.
  5. Edge has one on deck 5? On opposite side of Cafe il Bacio if I remember correctly.
  6. The app has a texting feature and you can also use WhatsApp,
  7. always stay in airplane mode on board the ship. If you have just one device access, you need to log off and then log on the other device. The on board folks can help you.
  8. They are very easy to find, I won't give them any promotion.
  9. The worst are the ones who setup their camera on a table top tripod and proceed to film and describe every morsel they consume. One of the most popular vloggers did this recently on MSC in YC and were told to stop filming because of so many complaints. They made a huge federal case over it, stormed off the ship at the next port and got like 500,000 view$ on their channel. They seem quite obnoxious on their YT videos.
  10. When you do on line check in, you’ll get your boarding time. Isn’t that all you need?
  11. Assuming you booked sunset veranda because you like the location? Are you willing to risk that for an unknown location?
  12. Greed, willing gullible customers, capatilism…
  13. They will not show in public areas, cabin TV only.
  14. yes and loaded with phony drama, with all sorts of things happening to them, that I have never ever seen before...DRAMA and phony!
  15. My brother and his wife have done Alaska on Celebrity, HAL and Oceania. They told me if I ever do Alaska, Oceania is the way to go, the size of their ships is the particular reason.
  16. You could just buy a case of water and they will leave it in your room on arrival. $30 bucks, problem solved.
  17. Based on your previous posts, you seem to be a regular cruiser. If so, just do both but only you can decide which one to do.

    Currency Question

You should always have some local currency on you, inevitably you will experience places that are cash only. Apple Pay is usable in Japan and Korea, frankly they are light years ahead of US when it comes to technology. If using your CC, you should ask to be charged in the local currency as well.
  19. Appreciate your review, nice and well balanced. I am looking forward to my first sail on Apex in March. I am wondering though, re the port call in Kirkwall, you say it was humiliating for those in wheelchairs or scooters. What made it humiliating, the incline of the ramp up/down from the ship, lack of assistance? Just curious. Thx
  20. There is nothing wrong with their simply asking the question.
  21. Did you miss where I said “for me”. And “lower class” is your quote not mine, I NEVER said that.
  22. If the way some act at this seafood event, like they have never seen or will again see a shrimp, is truly laughable in a OMFG way.
  23. While my cruise is March 2025, it is a 13 night TA on Apex. This pricing you show here makes me feel good about what I booked: Cruise only + tax + grats - AQ deck 9; $4206 Separately I purchased: prem. wifi + non-alcohol bev pkg + unlimited spec. dining; $1306 Total: $5512 Now in hind sight I know I should not have gone the Blu option but it is what it is, seeing what my cruise prices are going for now, +$1800 from what I paid and the prices of fall 2025, I'm good.
  24. Agree with your rankings, though I disagree re Celebrity NOT having premium price-tag. I don't think they are quite at luxury pricing, but premium, they are IMO.
