  1. My daughtr and I will be sailing on Odyssey of the Seas and we selected the interior room (pick it for me option since it was cheaper). We would like to have two separate beds but every time I send them an email, they respond saying it is not guaranteed. Worse comes to worse, if they assign one bed to both of us instead of two twin beds, does a typical interior state room have a sofa bed we could use for my daughter? Thank you
  2. Thank you for your great comment, very helpful. I tried posting about it on my roll call, but no one was interested in joining. I really would love to visit Positano, that has been on my bucket list for so long. Was your drive so long too? Did you get car sick or regret it because of the long drive? Was it worth it in your opinion?
  3. Just looked it up and looks like RC offers the same service: " For safety concerns self-service laundry facilities are not provided onboard our ships, but we do offer washing, pressing and dry cleaning services. We do not provide irons in the staterooms as they constitute a fire hazard. We also run wash and fold specials during the voyage. This is an additional service offered beyond our regular laundry service. Guests can now send smaller clothing items to be washed and folded for the fixed amount of $34.99 per bag. Fit as much as you can into the bag provided for you and we'll take care of the rest. Please ask your stateroom attendant for more information. Availability may vary. * All prices are in US. Dollars and are subject to change without notice."
  4. Thank you so much, I tend to pack only one pair of shoes but clothes for each day so we never had to wash anything, maybe I can try packing light this time 🙂
  5. Oh thank you! This is wonderful. I probably should find out before I start packing for this trip to see if RC offers the same service!
  6. Very helpful, thank you. I should really just get the size you mentioned. Hopefully I can fit our clothes in them (2 weeks worth since I am not sure how laundry situation goes in cruise).
  7. That is a long drive, I am starting to regret that decision. The only reason I wanted to visit Positano was the cascading colorful cliff houses. Last time we went to Naples we weren’t able to hire a driver who was willing to drive us there.
  8. That is a brilliant idea, I wish I had thought of that when I purchased my Roma Tremini to Civ. Porto tickets. But I guess it's not too late for the Civ. Port to Milan tickets. What would you usually do on the bus (from Civ. to Civ. Porto)?
  9. According to the private tour company yes, the time matches and they will be able to drive us back to the port in time (they have something written in their quote in line with a guarantee transfer back or all expenses paid). So we'll see. Not sure if same goes for a tour operated bby Viator
  10. Thank you for your great and helpful reply. She and I are both excited, good tip regarding the two wheels vs 4. I really appreciated.
  11. Thanks much, very helpful. My daughter is 9, so maybe we can just each take a wheeled travel bag with us? It would be for a two week trip (10 days of cruise + a couple of days in Rome and Milan).
  12. Thanks much, this is a great idea. If we bring one large suitcase, will there usually be room next toour assigned seats?
  13. My kid and I will be taking the train from Roma termini to Civitavecchia then take the bus to the port so we get to the cruise ship. Upon returning, we will be taking the bus from the port to Civitavecchia then to Roma termini then to Milan Centrale. I have already purchased our tickets for the first portion of this trip and selected our seats on the train. Have not purchased our tickets for the second portion of the trip to go to Milan. My question is how do we ensure the luggage will be safe at all times and if there is anything (like taking a cab or something) to facilitate this knowing I have a kid with me. Will we be able to store the luggage next to us since we have selected our seats? Any info will be much appreciated
  14. Yes I understand that and tried to look for the local company that operates the non-private Viator Amalfi coast, Positano and Ravello tour but wasn't able to find the info. Since the local companies I have contacted (Tour of Italy and Rome in a Limo, etc.) only offer the private tours, I was wondering if anyone used the non-private tours to visit that area and if so, what was your experience with that? Thank you
  15. I haven't heard of them, only heard of Italytours.eu and Tourofitaly.com. I guess I have to research this tour too 🙂
  16. By locals do you mean companies like Tour in Italy, Italy Tours and Rome in a Limo? If not, could you please advise which company operates the Viator locally in that area? Thank you
  17. Thank you for your reply, this was very helpful. Sure, I will be happy to come back here and review each and every port and activity we do. For the Naples port excursion, I have narrowed it down to three company, two of which are private companies (Rome in a Limo and Tour of Italy), I have also found a group tour through Viator for a fraction of the price. Almost everyone is advising to go with a private tour, although Viator is reputable too.
  18. Hi, We will be sailing on Royal Caribbean 9 night Greek isles in October. On day 2, it will port in Naples/Capri. I would like to arrange my own tour to visit Positano, Amalfi coast and Ravello but the tours I am looking at have the meeting point listed as: Naples Maritime Station, Naples Maritime Station or Stazione Marittima. When I googled where Royal Caribbean ship stops at Naples, I see Molo Beverello. Is this going to be too far from the tour’s meeting point? Thank you
  19. @gavvythank you for your reply, I agree. So I booked the Santorini tour with the ship. After tye cruise ends, we would like to take a train to Milan, what time do you think I should book my train tickets for to make sure we give enough time for the disembark process?
  20. Thank you for your helpful reply. I would love to visot Positano, Amalfi coast and Ravello, those are obviously harder to reach 😞
  21. Hi all, We will be sailing on Odyssey of the Seas 9 night Greek isles cruise starting Oct 2nd. Would like to book an excursion with a 3rd party company but the meeting point is listed as Stazione Marittima. Is that close to where Odyssey of the seas embark? Thank you
  22. I was looking at a tour to visit Amalfi coast (for my day 2 port day from Naple) and the tour has this meeting point: "Stazione Marittima 8.00 am (docking point of Cruise Ships". Is this where Royal Caribbean Odyssey of the seas dock? Thank you
  23. LOL! Well, we have the link so...:) as for the pickup location for Ephesus mini tour, I selected "Kuşadası Port Türkiye, Camikebir, Feribot Limanı, 09400 Kuşadası/Aydın, Türkiye, Kuşadası 09400" there was another similar option called Kisadasi pier. Hopefully I picked the right one 😆
